It's OK Kim....a lot of us have had to try Viagra too....:rofl3:
You see there you go....

First off....it doesn't work on me...

.....and secondly.....due to vascular and blood pressure issues (aorta/bi-illiac bypass in 2006) it would be contra - indicted due to the medication I now take.....

Good example of what I mean actually.....

Sorry Kim...Just kidding.

I really don't see a need to restrict access. The younger divers may read and learn from the older folks. If it becomes a problem, the mods will take care of it.
I doubt the less mature and enlightened group (mods) will wander in more than once. There loss, of course. Fifty two by the way.

I voted for my suggestion of OFDs but it would be rather interesting to be the GODs of Scubaboard.:doctor:

That's not the point for me.

There are simply some things I won't even bring up in an open forum...... especially very personal/medical type stuff. I actually have some examples to do with my forthcoming liveaboard trip........but I sure as hell won't be bringing them up in a totally open forum that can even be read by guests who simply Google the board.

If this forum is to be setup for you alone to share then opt in is fine, however I see it as a place the older divers can share experiences and issues the younger divers can learn from.

Just as an aside, I’m easy and if the majority feels like it should be opt in, I’m fine with that as well. Maybe another poll?? :blinking:

Maybe make it opt in but not restricted, like some of the other forums around here.
Then everyone can be happy.

I already said that.

I'm not quite sure what you mean though. My original suggestion was intended for older folks to discuss stuff that younger folks don't have issues with - because they're not old yet. It wasn't suggested as a sort of "you can learn from us" type place......but more from a "how do you share a liveaboard cabin with a stranger when you need to pee 5 times a night and you keep your dentures in a box on the bathroom shelf"?
Is that really interesting to a younger diver?

Maybe there's a need for two forums, although I think that it's already easy enough for older divers to share experience with younger ones, while there really isn't anywhere they can actually discuss specifically older issues.

That works...

Then threads don't show in new posts unless you've opted in..... and Google doesn't see them either.....

Like I said..... I've got no problem if someone wants in - the mods can take care of peanut throwers....

If it's totally public though, I for one won't bring certain types of things up.....

No no no..... it's called "multiple choice". I mentioned that at the beginning.

Yes, but with multiple choice, there's only one right answer. Pick two and you missed that question.

It's simple....... most votes wins...... no one can vote for the same name twice anyway!

Sorry, but that's not a legitimate vote. One vote per person or it doesn't count.

Kim:
Just as long as we can get rid of the "golden" thing, I reckon most people will be happy!!!

As long as the vote is conducted properly (this one wasn't), I'll be happy even if the name is golden showers. Even if my choice wins, I will not be happy with a name chosen in an illegitimate manner.

Good point... Opt in is cool with me.
