Hey all, I have a friend of mine that has been nagging me to come down and dive with him for awhile. I for one am not very fond of quarry diving. The one we have here (Dutch Springs) is pretty far north of me and there is not much to do. I guess I am pretty spoiled by being 30 minutes to the boats in Jersey :D Is it worth diving? Appreciate any feedback.

Dutch springs is more fun that Millbrook. But it is wet.

Not a fan of Millbrook. The three points of entry we tried were characterized by sloped slippery rock. There are marginal facilities -- change in the open, no picnic tables, portajohns distantly spaced. I saw hardly any fish life compared to Bainbridge. My dive buddy got his first dive-related ear infection and I had a hell of a time equalizing there.

Dutch Springs is much better than millbrook, but I think millbrook is warmer...that's about all it has over dutch springs (well that and it's way closer than dutch to me). I prefer Lake Rawlings over all the other quarries. It's the warmest.

What kind of wetsuit you need in millbrook? 5mm or more? Thanks

I do a 7 mm, I'm usually ok without the hood and gloves if I stay shallow...above the thermocline at 27ish feet (middle to late summer)

If you thought Dutch Spring wasn't good don't waste your time.

I was at Millbrook today. Vis sucked but it was very overcast. Temps at the plane where in the low 40's. All Millbrook has going for it is it's only an hour away.
