Does anyone know how to check the battery life. I am about to go away next week on a 3 week dive trip and dont want to have a problem.

Push ESC 2 times then Enter 2 times. This will give you the indicator.

Sorry if I missed it but was the questioned answered about the surface interval on the Mares Nemo Excel?

One of the features advertised is "Measures elapsed surface time after dive for safety"

I'm interested in buying this computer and now questing this feature.

No surface interval display... first dive computer I've owned that does not display surface interval which I feel is rather stupid. It also only displays time in so you need to do a little maths. (check time in in the logbook, add dive time to time in to get time out and go from there)

Besides this I do actually like the Nemo. I would probably not buy it if I were buying again as this is an important feature to me (I work on a dive boat where we do a 45 - 50 minute surface interval between dives and don't like having to work it out on a daily basis).

Phil,

I just bought my Nemo Excel. I used if for 3dives thus far. It works great. As for SI, isn't that figured out by accessing the planning mode? Just select the depth and it tells you how much time you would have based on your most recent profile. I believe this is the only SI info it generates. Is this correct?

Thanks,

AZ

I don't consider that a surface interval measurement. What you are referring to is planning the next dive. Bottom time allowable based on previous dive profile and future depth possibilities.

Surface intervals are manually calculated with the Nemo Excel.

Best regards,

If its calculating the 'safe to fly' by just counting down 24 hrs, isn't your SI just 24:00:00 minus whatever it's currently showing you? Yeah, that's still a 'manual calculation' but it ain't rocket science.

Got it! Works for me.

What about the back light? I gave up on my last liveaboard...but want to use it on my next trip? How is it activated? I have only done it on accident.
