Can anyone suggest an online store to buy the housing from?
Reef Photo and Video will likely be one of the first US vendors to get them and will stand behind any issue you have.

Hope this works out better for you than last set.

Phil,

Thanks. I'm almost certain after getting it my hands that the issues have been resolved. I'm looking forward to your full review when you return from Mexico. Yes..I felt kind of dumb after asking the question :D about the dome. In any case, dive safe and get that review up!!!

Hi guys,

I bought a E520 a few weeks ago with the plan to use it for underwater work.
I see Video Direct now has the PT-E05 in stock
Video Direct: Olympus PT-E05 Underwater Housing for E-520 Digital SLR

In order to use my E520 underwater I require the following (can someone confirm this)
PT-E05
PPO-E05 (can this only be used for the 14-42? or can i use it with the 50mm 2 as well)
UFL-2 Flash
Bracket for flash
Strobe cord

Anyone know where I can get these online that ships to Australia?

Cheers

Deane
Deane,
Did you get an answer to your questions below? I am in the same boat as you (were) and not sure what bits & pieces I need to buy or where to buy them.

Cheers

Steve

Steve,

Just what has appeared in the thread
Seems the best option is not the UFL-2 strobe.

The PPO-E05 port seems the best option

Now to find a vendor.

Cheers

There are several SB site sponsors like myself that sell Olympus products that can help you.

I would like to mention that I'm now a new dealer for them and also have a wide range of lighting packages; strobes, arms and trays that will work with the new E520 system.

I am in the same boat as others the housing hasn't been released. Latest word I got was "Late August"...

I think also that you van use the PPO-E05 for the 50mm (I use the PPE-03), as long as your arm wih the flash is long enough so you can put your flash just in front of the lens, because if your arm is to short you will have shadows on the pictures (see the different form of the two ports on the oly-site)
In any way if you plan to go fo for a specific port for the macrolens, look also on the INON site: the port for the macro-oly-lens is much cheaper and you can attach an extra diopter (also from inon), both for a cheaper price than the original oly-port (without diopter)

I noticed that Ikelite appears to offer the same housing for both the E-510and E-520. So will the PT-E05 accomodate both cameras too?

I have an E510 for topside use, which I would like to use underwater. Also there might be some deals available on E-510's now that the E-520 has arrived.

I put my wifes E510 inside the housing and it fits fine. The mode dial control is slightly larger on the E520 so when you use the 510 camera you have to put a slight downward pressure on the housing control. Otherwise, everything else snugs up fine. I'd caution you that I haven't dived with it and probably won't. It'll strictly be a backup to my 520.

Seems the housing is available in Japan. I went to Yodobashi Camera in Tokyo today. They quoted me Y117,000.
