My self

I am searching for the Okinawan Dugoon/Manatee...possibly extinct...does any one have any information on this creature?

In lake Lanier alone I ahve found many anchors, sunglasses, a 1980ish cassette boom box, cell phone.

All of you back seat CSI's

Has anyone found mammal skeletons (e.g. dolphins, seals, whales, manatees) underwater? I wonder how long it takes a skeleton to decay in saltwater. Do skeletons decay different in fresh water versus saltwater? I am looking for evidence that the Okinawan Dugoon/Mantee is not extinct.

What, if anything, have you found and salvaged on your dives? I'm not talking about scavenging wrecks, I'm just curious to know what items, if any, all of you have stumbled upon while diving.

Hmm... Let me think for a minute...

sunglasses (lots)
a hangun (still worked but out of bb's)
many different type sharks teeth
prehistoric whale earbones
petrified prehistoric shark poo
old cork-stopper bottles
old spanish coins
old french coins
1886 Henry winchester rifle part
cone shaped ink well
old american indian smoking pipe
indian spear point
indian arrow heads
prehistoric pig jaw bone
old wooden ship dowels
civil war clothing buttons
american indian wampum
civil war medicine bottles
lots of broken pottery

Some years ago, during the off season, we decided to gear up and go down the Ichetucknee Springs run. Found a couple of pairs of sunglasses and a very nice 18k gold bracelet. I imagine there's stuff to find anywhere a lot of people are.

Your right. I like looking where folks go to recreate. Found some very good bling-bling over the years. Plus some other real good junk. I am rather fond of rope swings.
