Lake Simcoe airplane wreck

Years ago there was diving club in Toronto who sank a cessna airplane body out in lake Simcoe does any one have the numbers for its location. Thank you

Sorry I don't know much about that one, but I have a buddy of mine who tells me there is a old Lancaster Bomber in Simcoe as well. I am trying to get the info on that one as well. Be sure to let us know what you find out!

Basically It's a boat dive, my buddy is going to take us out and show us the location, just of shore but a bit too far for surface swim. He hasn't been there for a few years, and we don't know the condition of the plane itself. As soon we get it worked out i'll let you know what the plan is.

Thanks....hopefull you have a good dive on it and it is in good condition. Hopefully you can log the GPS coordinates and post them so it can be enjoyed by many. I am always looking for a new site because I have logged a lot of dives at the "local" ones. Necessity of a boat may throw a wrench into it for me but I will always find a way.

I was quoted around the 80- 90 foot range. It was about 5 years ago he did the dive and he was a begginer then and hadn't been back since. I myself don't know much about the lake still in the research part, howevere I do know Big bay we hit 85 feet. The site I have been told is two beaches west of Big Bay Point. Again once we get close to charter times for the lake I will let you know and we can head out and see what we get.

8 of us are hading to the Tiller Wreck Tomorrow for a dive, should be a blast.

For years the story of the Lancaster plane wreck under lake Simcoe has been told and I never heard of it actually being found it would of made the national papers and I'm sure would of been removed for historical reasons as there are only a hand full of those wonderful planes actually flying and left in the world. They were made in Malton Ontario for the British air force back in the 40's. The plane I was talking about is a small Cessna plane I dove on about 12 years back and there was a small trimaran boat just beside it.
