I just moved to Atlanta and am looking for a local dive shop here. I live in the norcross/peachtree corners area. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am looking to get involved in trips, classes, and to purchase some gear.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I don't live in Atlanta, but I get emails from Seaventures and they appear to have alot going on. I don't have any personal experience with them. They take several trips a year and have their own bus that they use for frequent trips to the Keys and Crystal River/Rainbow river area for Manatee swims. They also go megaldon teeth diving. Of course they take lots of foreign trips too that you can see on their site.

Sounds intriguing.

Send a message to The Krakken aka Dennis. He is an instructor in the Atlanta area and can recommend you to a good shop!

If you ever find your way to wanting to dive offshore here in Savannah, please PM me and I can get you hooked up with a good charter! The offshore dives here are AOW so I hope to see you sometime in the future!

I live in the Norcross/Peachtree Corners area and just did my open water training last September with Adventures in Diving in Duluth just up the road at 3870 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. Their website is scubaatlanta.com. I highly recommend them...the owners, Scott and Diane, are the best! I even got one of my cats from them! They are doing a Nekton Liveaboard in the Bahamas in June which I'm going on.

I know it's a little bit of a drive but go I-20 west to Douglasville and you will find what I believe to be one of the best dive shops I have ever been in and I've been in a few in the Atlanta area!
It's called Leisure Aqua Sports..6716 Broad Street and I do have to admit I did start my training at this shop and am now one of the matainance techs[the other one is the owner] and am now wrapping up my dive master there but this place is all about diving !
It's a NAUI shop but the training goes beyond naui standards,it's a shop geared for cave and tech and everyone you'll meet is there for you. We have alot of fun in our classes and check out trips ,safety is #1,and no matter where you got you gear,Herb will gladly service just about anything that you can still get parts for.
If your looking for a huge retail outlet this ain't it but if you looking for a great group of divers then this is your place!!!!
O.H. by the way welcome to Atlanta.

Phil darling...I thought I had offered you some offshore dives and a home cooked meal with a comfy couch to crash on! If I didn't well I do apologize and the offer definitely stands to all my fellow out of town divers!

Thanks everyone. I've got recommendations for the three dive shops closest to where I live. That is great. I've been doing a lot of research on gear to buy on scubaboard. This site is great. Thanks for the invite Carolyn. I'll hit you up if I make it your way.

Leisure sports is rather far from where I live but if I'm in the area I will stop in for sure. And I'll check out the trip calender.
Thanks a bunch everyone,
Jessica
