Sorry you had a bad experience Mike - I know my family would have done anything to make it right by you and yours if they would have known.

well after reading your post and thinking about it, no sense in holding a grudge against them for something that they most definately didn't try to make happen.

I think I'll give them a try again next time I'm in town.

They had a Tuna salad sandwhich that was very good. (I think that was it).

Fish eye view - the Crib is a risk for sure! Its close proximity to the boat ramp makes it a great place on a rainy afternoon to sit and watch tourists get their boats out of the water though - what a hoot!!

Yeah, I have spent more than a few hours drinking there and watching the fun at the ramp. It's always good for fights between couples.

Most days at the Carib if you are un-armed you are probably the only one who is.

Ah the boat ramp - it brings out the best in people!

The Carib: an armpit on a good day. I try to minimize my time there. And the boat ramp! You see the tourists and the locals. The tourists frequently have out-of-state plates. They both know what they're doing. Or not. The locals seem to be more aggressive in bullying the non-locals. That's the only difference I've noticed. Certainly they are equal when it comes to boat launching and recovering skills and rudeness at the ramp.

I like the Fish House love there lobster bisque and smoked fish dip. I have not eaten at the Conch House yet so I cannot give you any help there. I love Lazy Days it too is one of my favorite places to eat .I like docs dinner and also Harriettes for a big breakfast both serve huge plates of food. Silent World or Blue Water for the Upper Keys and Conch Rep in Tavernier.
When we got off the boat with Silent World we ate at Shipwrecks right at the docs. They have some decent food I really liked there Chili. You can eat indoors or out.

If you want something other than seafood for a change while in Key Largo try Rib Daddy's. The best BBQ I've had east of Galveston. Leaning Tower of Pizza for Italian food/take out pizza.

Kudos to you Mike for giving them another go, I eat there all the time, never had a problem. A good friend of mine works as a health inspector of restaurants. He tells me that 99% of reported 'food poisoning' sickness is actually caused by Campylobacter. Problem is, it is usually brought in by customers and pets and the restroom is the most common place to get it. It doesnt survive freezers or cooking, so its unlikely it was the food. Nothing too much restaurants can do about it, especially in the tropics. You were probably unlucky that some dirty customers were in the same time as you LOL!

For ribs? If I'm THAT close to Key West (ok, it's only 100 miles) and I want ribs, I'll hit the Meteor! BEST RIBS IN THE KEYS! (as their advert. states!) mmmmmm! They just went under new ownership, and the the owner went back to the original recipes! We stopped there in December and it was great!

I gotta stay out of this thread, I'm REALLY getting hungry!:popcorn::popcorn:

Another vote for the Fish House! :D

The pig wings are just awesome at Rib Daddy's....
Lots of votes for Fish House, It just struck me as kinda pricey and gawdy....

I'm surprised no one has mentioned hobo's... they've slided downhill lately...

I also like the jerk wings at the irish place in the strip mall down by Conch, but yea, service is S-L-O-W there at times, 'specially when ya drink like a fish....

Buzzard's Roost is consistent....
