I am planing a dive trip to Costa Rica with my son. I am a NAUI certified, My son
is planning to complete his PADI certification Open Water Dives in Manuel Antonio.
Can anyone recommend a PADI facility in this area and let me know the dive conditions.
Last question, how is the diving off Isla del Cano?
Thanks for your help.

I am heading either to Cancun or possibly Coasta Rica, as for your questions, I'm also looking for same info. My question to you is have you picked a date yet,and if so would you be interested in planing a trip with two other advanced divers? I have a buddy and we are looking to get at least 2 others to plan dives together. We live in Mo. and are ready for some good diving.

There is Oceans Unlimited right in the center of Manuel Antonio. They are also members of the CRDP. Good dive center and the staff has a good sense of humor. Ask for Kath.
Have fun!

I dove with Oceans Unlimited in Aug 07,they were great, very professional and easy to work with and I would use them again in a second.

Does anyone know a good place to research a rental villa/house in Costa Rica? I have a group of between 7 to 12 divers that all want to go to Costa Rica in late Dec09. Which side of CR is recommended for mixing diving and non-diving activities (Pacific or Caribbean)?

Thanks!

We are located in Quepos/ Manuel Antonio, and have a huge choice of activities to compliment our diving operations. Sport fishing, kayaking, canopy, canyoning, whitewater rafting, surfing, back country ATV's, horseback riding, Manual Antonio National Park and a couple of dozen more. Lodging available here ranges from from backpackers to 5 star hotels with great restaurants, night clubs and casinos.

We are happy to help with your travel plans as well.

Steve,

if you stay in Quepos / Manuel Antonio it makes no sense to drive up to Herradura for a local dive or to complete your sons certification.
But if you would like to dive the Isla Tortuga, be informed that we are the only Dive Shop on this side of the Gulf of Nicoya going diving over there.

Diving the marine reserve "Isla del Caño" ist a unique experience.
Without any doubt the best spot to dive in Costa Rica (after the Isla del Coco).

The dive conditions are getting better day by day, sometimes there is some surge but the -almost- daily encounters with mantarays will let you every little anoyance.
The visibility is between 30-60 feet ant the watertemp is around warm 80.

Best regards

Chris
