I was using Cressi XS2
The XS2 is a good reg as well, but is larger.
I can feel the difference in the new reg, compared to what I have used for the last year.

This new reg is my first equipment purchase. Previously all the gear I was using is what my dive shop uses for students and rental.

I also am now using the Cressi octo ellipse, Console Archimede 3, and new BCD Cressi Aero Pro.
Fins are Cressi Reaction (in blue), Cressi Matrix mask and ultra dry snorkel.

Wetsuit is coming (7mm, also cressi)

Did I mention I love Cressi gear.

They've been making underwater gear since 1946! So they better put out some quality products! Gotta love that Italian quality:)

P.S: I don't own one peice of Cressi gear:( But have been eying there Gara 3000 LD fins for when I go free-diving.

Yep - I like it too. I got my Cressi BC about three or four years ago with the Flight Control System which they don't offer anymore. After all this time using it I can't imagine using anything else. I pretty much set it and forget it till it's time to come up. Cressi builds solid gear and I don't think I'll be making any new purchases for a while - it all still looks new!

hey Frankpro 1 - try the gara pros...best fins ever. glad you like your new stuff diveMONSTER Julie!

At the risk of being a bit repetitive from some of my other posts, I LOVE Cressi, too! I have never worked with or used better masks in my entire career as a dive instructor. The masks our shop carries sell like hotcakes because the quality and performance is so incredible and the prices are actually quite reasonable, especially when compared to some of the other brands. Each time I sell a piece of gear to one of my students, I feel totally and completely comfortable knowing that they will get 100% satisfaction out of it.

The hard goods - bcds, regs, etc. are also awesome. So far, they've proven to be very durable, reliable, and comfortable. Although Cressi is huge is many parts of the world, I still come across divers who have never heard of the brand. Hopefully Cressi will do some more marketing to get their name out there.

And FrankPro...you have GOT to get the Gara Pros. It's their latest in a line of high-quality free diving fins and once you dive with them, you'll never look back!

Thanks Guys.. I'll have to check them out. I currently use XL Jetfins w/spring straps for scuba... I know these Cressi's will be great for free-diving.. but have either of you used them during scuba? Impressions?

This is my 1st post and it's prompted me to sign up in support of Cressi. :)

While I'm currently in the process of taking the PADI Open Water class (I had to take a break for surgery), I do have a handful of aquarium dives w/ a hooka under my belt since I own and operate a very high end reef aquarium design and maintenance company.

Because I have a client with a 1000g system that can only be cleaned from the inside, I've been pushed into diving as a business necessity.

While researching the lightest weight regulator that I could find for under $500, I stumbled across the Cressi Ellipse Titanium MC7. Due to the negligible cost difference, I went ahead and purchased the "Alaska" cold water version.

The LDS sold me a DeepSee mask that never quite fit properly, so I once again did some researching and ended up buying a Cressi Focus w/ corrective lenses.

At this point i decided that I was going to "dive in" completely, and then added the Cressi Ellipse Octo, and just this past week found a Cressi S116 on eBay in brand new condition for only $125 shipped... I bought a tank locally when I ordered the Ellipse Titanium reg, and bought Tusa Platina-III gauges because I didn't see the need for a computer just yet. Based upon numerous recommendations from others on a reefkeeping forum, I bought Slingshot fins.

I'm now looking at a Cressi 5mm wetsuit, because I figure if it's anywhere near the quality of what I've received so far, it will be a winner.

I have a half dozen "dives" ranging between 1.5 & 5 hours per dive using my regulator w/ a 25' hose connected to a tank, and the Elipse Titanium is so lightweight that it's never left my jaw feeling overly fatigued.

I can't wait to finally be able to get my first pool session in, so I can try diving in something large enough to actually be able to do something more than just breathing air underwater.

HI, I've had the Ellipse Titanium for 4 years now and its quality is outstanding. just came back from my deep course yesterday and the ease of breathing was excellent, plus its super light weight. also have the Cressi Lince mask, sigma snorkel and 7mm cressi ice semi dry. oh yeah and a spare pair of cressi Rondine-a fins...I don't imagine any unhappy cressi owners out there! have fun with your ellipse steel.
