Hi lgrieve-
We invite you to checkout the camera specifications at the above links that we have previously posted for more info. But to answer your question- the DX-1G and Dx-2G do have movie capabilities up to 640x480 @ 30fps and 15 fps and 320x420 @ 30fps/15fps. The DX-1G is now 850.00 which is a great price for the camera set, the DX-2G will be 1050.00 in April upon release.

Both the DX-1G and DX-2G have a video mode but the strength of the camera is not video it is photos. If it were me, I would wait until the DX-2G comes out.

Regards,

Bill

HI guys-
Bill is correct, please remember these are compact digital STILL cameras, not video cameras so they are designed to perform in still mode. With that said, the video is a nice high quality additional feature.

Hey Sea&Sea, you haven't responded to my email regarding the close-up lens for the DX-1G. What gives????? I am interested in getting one but have a couple of questions. See my thread in the Sea&Sea manufacturers forum.

Regards,

Bill

Yes, the ability to flip over and take video clips is a very nice addition that would be missed in any digital camera. One big downside to DSLRs, IMO... even if all you want is a quick video clip of something neat happening, you're SOL unless you want to carry another camera just for that.

Is that $1050 price for the complete DX-2G kit? What's that include?

Hi CompuDude,
The DX-2G, SS-06604A is camera/housing/battery/charger set, MSRP of $1049.00. Additional packages with strobes, arms and acccessories will be available as well.

Thanks. I have an Inon D2000 strobe, I assume I can use this with the 2G? How does the fiber interface work, or is the 2G a true TTL camera? (time to upgrade to the Z240!)

There is a direct connection for the fiber cable and that connects to the strobe (at least that is how it connects to the YS-110 strobe). The DX-2G and 1G use DS-TTL but are not true TTL. I'm not familiar with the Inon strobe (I have the Sea&Sea YS-110) so I cannot say how that would connect to the camera.

Regards.

Bill
