The only camera I've owned for underwater use is my little S&S DX5000G. I have never had any trouble getting information off the main photo forum concerning Sea & Sea related questions.

If it would be a way to keep the main forum more organized with general "photo" realated items rather than specific equipment related items by adding the sub-forum, I have no problem with it, but I don't really see the NEED for it at this point.

When I first purchased my set-up, I would put posts on here related to S&S and would only get a couple of responses. I think because there simply were not that many people using them.

More DLSR users are using S&S housings and the advanced Megapixle versions of the compacts have risen the popularity of the S&S dramatically in the past couple of years, but I'm not sure that the posts relating to S&S are necessarily clogging up the main forum.

I vote definatly...maybe :d

I also would like to see a sea/sea forum

Is it possible to have a 'super forum' section that could show all the topics from all the separate photography sections, yet leave all the current sections as they are?

This is a simple idea but hard to explain. You know how on some computers you can make a folder that looks like it contains a bunch of files, and you click click on and access them in it, but the true original files are actually in many other locations on the hard drive?

Okay, is it possible with ScubaBoard forum software (whatever that is) to leave all the photography forum sections in place, but add a separate one that includes all the threads from all of them?

Maybe not, but it would offer people a choice between the 2 extremes.

At 'TurtleForum.com', I use the 'View New Posts' option to quickly browse what's going on in the forum sections, but busy as that forum is, I think ScubaBoard.com is so huge such a feature would bury me under new posts most every time I clicked on it, but I may have to try it (just spotted the feature at the top of this forum page - learn something new every day, I guess!).

Richard.
We're currently considering changing "New Posts" into a menu. One of the options would be: show all Photography threads.

I'm still using my 35mm Seamaster Pro Ex with a YS-50 strobe and love it. I would definetly like a Sea &Sea forum. It's time to check out the new toys.

I haven't heard anything from the moderators on whether a decision has been made to create a Sea&Sea camera forum. What is the status of that? There are forums for cannon, sealife, olympus, and nikon cameras so why not have a forum for Sea&Sea?

Regards,

Bill

Do you have 12 members to support your request?

Even though I oppose to all the subdivisions of the phogtography section and I would rather see it all go in the other direction (eliminating the separate make sections as I mentoned in my previous post), so long as the oly, canon, nikon and sealife sections exist I'll back you in your request for a S&S CAMERA section. [please note that I purposely left caemra in caps since having a general sea&sea section will lead to requests for further subivisions of the forum into Ikelite and Inon sections and so on].

If you scroll thru this thread you will find 12 supporters in favor of the idea of a separate Sea and Sea forum. Although I wasn't aware we had to have a specific number showing support.

Jim

I do support this idea.

How do you like the Sea and Sea Camera. I am looking for an underwater camera...
