Hello,

Bryan

Hi Bryan:

That was the first BCD (size medium) that I owned. While I forget the exact figure I do believe it was in the mid thirties. It easily floated the Dolphin LP80, regulator (MR12-Navy) gauges and an additional 6lbs of weights that I carried in the pockets. For a BCD that was slightly too big for me it felt very stable and was very comfortable. I wish my current Zeagle Concept had the Alpine pack that the 840 has.

Hope this helps a little.

Claude

Sorry for the delay, but I did not get a notification of a reply.

Thanks for the info though. I am wating to see if it will hold air overnight, I hope all goes well.

Bryan, just inherited the same b/c and am in the same boat repairwise. Worked in a dive shop for 20 years, been running dive/snorkel trips and now can't get parts. Could you tell me who to contact for Mares parts? FYI -- check the inflate and dump ports where they connect to the jacket-- unscrew the inflator and dump caps and check the pieces inside the jacket they connect to. Mine crumbled in my hands. Need those parts and recommendation on type of glue they used. Rest of jacket is like new. Must have been stored next to ozone source of some kind. Any help greatly appreciated. Capt.bob

Mine is actually fine, so I have not had to find any parts yet.

Mine looked fine too until i unscrewed the inflator at the shoulder and the dump in back. Try this and tell me what happens. When you do look inside and tell me if it has a bladder or not. Cant tell if mine has just rotted away or if this model doesnt use a bladder. Thanks, hope all is well, Cap.bob
