Yes rinsing when you get home is fine. My garden hose does not reach my dive site 2 hous away so my gear waits 'til I get home

I suppose that pretty much answers my question. Thanks!

Just to clarify, the quarry Im diving is about 20-30 minutes from me and has no rinse station available. So it would be ok to just rinse the gear after I get home???? This is a spring/rain fed quarry and has excellent vis.

It's amazing how little gear gets rinsed on most liveaboards. I do like to take a plastic tub or bag large enough to rinse my computers & cameras, and second stages. Wash all well when I get home.

On topic: I usually rinse my suit, boots, hood, and gloves in the shower after a quarry dive. I don't rinse anything nonporous like my fins mask, or computer unless they are visibly dirty.

Off topic: what quarry do you dive at? Sounds like Pennyroyal, which is also 30 minutes from me.

i've found that after diving in my local quarry, alabama blue water adventures, my gear gets stinky on the ride home. I couldn't imagine allowing it to dry, and just putting it away. For that reason alone, i clean my gear after each fresh water trip.

I've found that using a low concentration of simple green in my bathtub works great for cleaning my scuba kit.

boy did i learn my lesson about a year ago. After diving alabama bluewater, i drove one hour back home, left my gear in my truck, got up the next morning to drive back to albama bluewater for more diving. When i opened my truck door it smelled like a dead body was inside decaying, i almost hurled. I will always rinse and wash after every dive from now on.

I like to rinse my puters and masks to prevent hard water buildup on the glass, clear plastic, and on the water activation contacts.

I wash all mine with soap and water, but for wet suits - we turn them inside out and spray them well with urine remover first. Really helps...

It's also good on sweat stains on a hat. :cowboy:

ok..... you owe me a new monitor for this one! :rofl3:

I dont' think I've ever seen anyone essentially come on here and say "when I pee all over myself, I use Urine Off" :rofl3:
