So what happened with the "big lawsuit"? Inquiring minds wanna know.

So, what was the outcome of this debacle? I am trying to choose which of
these housing manufacturers have the best waterproof housing for my video camera.
Anybody know? Any opinions on which product?
Thanks,
Geoff

B&H NEVER issued appropriate RMAs for this merchandise. This issue remains open and pending.

Soupcan (Equinox) offered to repair or replace the housing.

B&H refused to replace the ruined video cam, batteries, tape, memory card, and any of the other items purchased. I have emails requesting RMAs and B&H refusals to issue. I can post and ask Henry to send me the RMAs they issued as I have never received any.

Credit card company dealing with attorneys at present, next step is attorneys and suit direct to B&H.

I am still here. And do monitor the B&H spin. Save yourself the headache. Don't buy from where I was stupid enough to.

By the way, when you call B&H corporate offices, no one has any idea who Henry Posner is. So he may not even work for B&H, if he does, they do not affirm it. He refuses to give a phone number to contact him, and B&H has ignored multiple requests for legal department contact info.

BEWARE.

Your order was B&H # xxx802460. The RMAs we issued and e-mailed to you were xxx802461 and xxx802462. All during June 2008. Your claim we did not issue RMAs is incorrect.

This is nonsense. I'm most accessible by email but you can reach me at 212 239-7500 x2132. Everyone here knows me. I've been here 15 years. Until recently I also ran our internal intranet, giving me increased visibility here. If you have an inquiry for the Legal Department please email Legal@bhphotovideo.com.

Oddly enough - reading all of this... I had been trying to decide between an Equinox HD6 and Ikelite for my camera... And I was looking at B&H photo. For some reason I decided to read most of this forum, and I can say that from my position, it looks like Equinox and B&H have both made very reasonable attempts to make themselves available, communicate, and it looks to me like this is more of a dissatisfied customer that (understandably) is going to have a very hard time being happy with any resolution.

While I also understand that part of the responsiveness is the very public nature of this complaint, which Equinox and B&H both have a vested stake to represent themselves. This also strikes me that this issue should never have been this public - especially six pages worth of posts.

Oddly enough, I think this solidified my decision and I'm going to go order the HD6 from B&H on Monday. I've not seen similar complaints, manufacturing defects DO happen on occasion, and from this thread, it looks to me like both parties have tried to keep lines of communications open - says pretty much all I need to know.

I'll let you all know how my housing works out

Regardless of what happened, the housing was faulty and caused the camera to be ruined by flooding and they wouldn't replace the camera. I saw the housing. That is what the OP wanted. A new camera because the one he bought, got flooded by a faulty housing....Buy away

Thank you. I appreciate both your very reasonable post and your decision to purchase from us. This is very gratifying. Best wishes for Christmas and the new year.
