HULU has maybe 20 or so episodes you can watch. I happened to come across one of the safety divers for the filming they did here in Florida, pretty interesting stories. You never know who you might come across in this business.

SEA HUNT was, and still is, a great show, but it did get some things wrong. Like, for example, the way Mike buddy breathed with other divers. For some reason, he always turned his mouthpiece up when giving it to the other diver. Anybody who actually uses a double hose regulator knows that you turn the mouthpiece down when passing it to a buddy. Turning it up lets all the air out of the mouthpiece and allows water into the exhaust hose. I was taught to always turn the mouthpiece down when passing it to a buddy to limit the air lost and to keep any more water than necessary out of the exhaust hose.
And there was that horrible "Killer Whale" episode...

Oh you mean the one where the "killer" whale was either a basking shark or a Beluga depending on which scene you were watching?

Yep. And the very notion that the killer whale was attacking humans and that orcas actively hunt humans for food. The truth is, killer whales do not attack humans. There have never been any reports of anyone being attacked and killed by an orca. Even the "attacks" that have occurred at Sea World were not fatal and were, most likely, the result of the whale getting frisky and playing too rough. If the whale wanted to kill the trainers involved, they would have been dead in an instant.
Actually there was a trainer killed in Victoria BC a few years back by a whale that held her under water until she drown.

I hadn't heard of that one. But even with that one, who is to say the death was intentional? I guess you never know. It could've gotten ticked off for some reason. After all, it is a mammal with emotions not very different from our own. However, as far as I know, there has never been a case where a wild orca has killed a human like in the SEA HUNT episode.
I tried to find the incident you mentioned but could not find it in the net. The only incidents I could find told of orcas in San Diego and Texas holding a trainer down but, after some coaxing by other trainers, let them go before they drowned.

This is the first I'd heard of this. I read an article not too long ago asserting that there have been no documented cases of wild orcas attacking humans. Have all the reported attacks been made by captive orcas? The article you linked to says that the BC orca had been bullied by two female orcas. I wonder if that coud've had anything to do with his hostility?

I saw an episode last night when the bad guy left in a boat and after leaving the area, stopped the boat, jumped in and somehow swam underwater back to the original area.
Apparently, the bad guy swims at roughly the speed of his boat!
Mike Nelson did the same but used his arms...not in a typically flapping motion but used them slowly in the manner of the American Crawl while on scuba.
A few fresh water fish crossed in front of the camera while all this was going on.
It is a cool show though!
Regarding Orcas, they are porpoises that are "killers of whales" not whales that are killers of man.
