You make an incorrect assumption.

I'm able, just not willing.

A ScubaBoard Staff Message...

I'll assist you. :)

Still have not seen a response from the seller after the buyers posting that the warenty will not be honored.:popcorn:

Well personally I believe it was a foolish and martyr like move to tell the warranty station that he was not the original purchaser. But then that is just me. I would rather have a camera that worked than play the victim.

So now we fault the buyer for trying to be honest and doing the right thing?

Sort of but not entirely. I no longer believe that all the buyer wants is a camera that works anymore. It may be the way my twisted brain interperets things but when they passed on the option to say they were the original purchaser AND to get the camera fixed, they stated clearly that they have other agenda items INO. Does it make the original sale right? No. Does it mean that they deserve anything in particular up until the point where they passed on the opprtunity? No. Would I change my opinion if the Buyer came back with other information about how the conversation with the warranty station went? Maybe.

Based on what he said, I do not believe he made the effort to get the camera replaced. Nobody would have been put out if he had said that he was the original owner yet he chose to go another route involving an SB mob. Sorry but too much does not add up here for me to entirely blame the seller.

ScubaSteve, I agree that it is more than likely that it is your twisted brain's interpretation. I do want a working camera, the sales slip did not have my name on it and the warranty station was EMPHATIC on that requirement. Yes I could have lied and said I was the original purchaser, of course I would have had to forge the documentation to do that, which I presume you feel is perfectly justified. Agenda? Get a life!

I have a life and a couple cameras that work too :D. Get bent out of shape all you want but the reality is, pouring your heart out to the warranty station about how you were taken advantage of does nothing to help your cause. You could have approached it differently but chose not to (perhaps you thought you were taking the high road). I am not saying your approach with the warranty station is right or wrong but it was obvious before that it would not get the camera fixed.

You may not have done everything to get support from the manufacturer. Perhaps it would have been possible to say that it was a gift. If memory serves me correctly, you have paperwork that supports that if my recollection is accurate. Being the original owner and being the purchaser are two different things. When I've purchased articles that are new, there is normally a slip inside for warranty registration. If it wasn't there, you could certainly ask the company for one, fill it out any you would be the registered owner.

It appears that the Seller gave you everything you need to make this a reality. Certainly this is an unfortunate situation, but similar things have happened to many of us. The Seller should have helped you more and may still be interested in doing so. It's easy to blame the Seller for everything, but it's most likely not all his fault; it seems that he hasn't made any misrepresentations.

You bring this out in an open forum to complain and when ScubaSteve says something you don't want to hear, you tell him to get a life. I'm beginning to see why your attitude may have enticed the Seller to take the position he has...
