I use the 9 to 18 zoom for wide angle with the E-3 and E-620 with great results using the Olympus 170 mm dome port.

I would expect the M9-18 zoom to be as sharp a lens as the 4/3 lens, the issue is how well it will work behind the flat port with this new housing. The flat port will reduce the angle of view for sure and I would expect that corner sharpness will suffer as well. For most photographers this may not be a deal breaker vs. the many upsides compared P&S camera systems.

Okay,

I just picked up my new epl-1 in champaign. This this is so light and compact. I am really loving the small evil. It will be a great augment to my T1i.

Only problem is with the software. It does not work on Mac's and it is not working right on windows. I have open up a case with Oly. They said they will have the tier 2 tech contact me in 48 hours. We will see if they will be updating the Ib software that came with the camera.

I love the live preview of this thing over a dslr.

I love the live preview of this thing over a dslr.

I am so completely spoiled with live view that I can never go back to a dingy optical vf. The only exception to that would be for action or bright conditions, otherwise, give me live view, a nice live view like my S90, big and bright for my eyes to see.

Congrats on your new camera, hope you enjoy it mucho.

Thanks N,

I love being able to see the EV changes I make before I press the shutter. It is great. And Video on demand. No having to switch anything. Just press the little orange dot on the back. And I can also see it in the optional EVF. I prefer VF and EVF shooting personally. I frame better.

But as I expected with m4/3. Up to 800iso it is equal to my dslr. 1600iso it is still acceptable. But anything after that it really falls off.

But boy does this thing pack down smaller.
