Hello to all and I would like to introduce myself. I am John Sullivan and I will be SSI certified this month and I am really looking forward to diving, getting gear and toys, and making new dive friends. I am a Microsoft Engineer employed by a local firm and I am a Certified Microsoft MCSE,CISCO CCNA,A+,Network+,and Citrix CCA and would be happy to exchange Network skills for SCUBA equipment or just help out with computer questions if people are having a problem!

Thanks in advance for everyones help, I am sure I will be posting questions! I am also very interested in finding diver partners in my area. I live in Owensboro Kentucky but have the ability to travel!

There are several divers on here from your area. Keep an eye on the KY Piranha Patrol..KPP.

Welcome. I live down in Russellville; got a buddy in Hopkinsville. You may already know about the Pennyroyal Blue Springs quarry site down in Hopkinsville.

Richard.

Hi Richard,

Thx for the welcome. Yes, I will be taking my open water dives at the quarry. I don't think anyone has been able to hit their web site since I found out about it and have been sucking down all of their bandwidth..lol I am really looking forward to diving and would like to be able to dive alot and with other people.

Welcome to diving in the Bluegrass. You know about Pannyroyal and there are others within a few hours that you will want to try out (LaGrange/Falling Rock, Mermet, Gilboa). I tend to dive the quarries to keep my skills up but really enjoy wreck diving in NC. About a 8.5 hour drive for me but can be done on a long weekend. If you are interested I would be happy to contact you next time I head to the quarry.

Hey John, welcome aboard.

I'm sure that we will run into each other at Pennyroyal this summer. I live about 20 miles north of there and go regularly.

Thx Bob,

If you see a man fumbling around, not knowing what he is doing and all excited,,it will probably be me..lol

LOL, nothing wrong with that. I'll be doing the same thing. I'm just getting started on the learning curve of diving with doubles and a drysuit.

Who's your instructor? What dive-shop?

Hey john, Welcome! Good to see you on the board. I'm also in Owensboro. If you're ever looking to dive the quarry in Hopkinsville, Let me know. I have 3/5 weekends off & am down there quite a bit. Just ask Bob, I'm VERY patient:D.

Yes, she is! She's a great dive buddy. Probably the most understanding that I've ever had. Wally (crpntr133) is a real close second.
