I primary use Ratio Decompression, which in the context of this thread would be DecoPlanner.

Can you explain that to me? How is DecoPlanner and ratio deco the same thing?

See the thread just below this one, but in short RD is based on DP with some shape modifications.

More accurately RD is based on Buhlmann and GF, as is Decoplanner.

(Wow! Apparently this is my 1000th post. I don't know whether to be proud or dismayed).

At least it was on Deco and not Deep Air. :)

A mixed bag....

Until recently, I mostly used my VR3 as a dive planner - it's based on Buhlmann with 2 minute Pyle stops. The main logic for using the VR3 is that it's the computer I'd use on a dive so it's easy to cut the profile straight from the VR3.

I now use Decoplanner for trimix dives. Not quite into "fully trusting" Ratio Deco yet - so I'll plan the dive on Decoplanner, smooth the profile so it suits me - then use RD to make any changes on the fly should I need to.

I've used GAP and Deco-Planner in-training, but I prefer to use V-Planner as the primary dive planning software tool.

In-water, I use ratio decompression 100% of the time, but I may modify stops, especially the shallow stops, with ratio deco and software don't seem in accord somehow.

I use D-Plan on a Palm most often (simple, portable, easy to use) but it's not an option. I have GAP on my laptop and I normally run it with Buhlmann C and GF's.
