Hope to see you soon !!!

OK, I will jump in. I was a general OW vacation resort warm water diver for a number of years before becoming a recreational instructor. I thought I was too old to get into anything more serious before deciding, what the heck, even if I don't get in much cave diving before I hang it up due to age-related decrepitude, that is more than I would have done if I didn't do it at all. So I got my NSS-CDS Apprentice rating in early February, and, Jim, I'll see you in a couple of weeks.

OW in 1980.

How long certified as an O/W diver before you completed cave training, by what agency?
NSSCDS Cavern in 1984
No diving in the 90s - picked it back up in 2000
NACD Cavern/Intro in 12/2005
NACD Cave in 12/2007

How many cave dives logged - 90 to 100 cave dives (45 after Cave) 450 total dives

How many different caves have you been in - 8 systems

What configuration you primarily dive caves in - Just switched from BM to SM

Are you stage cave certified, DPV cave certified, sidemount certified?
Stage cert - I dive a stage occasionally but have no plans to obtain this cert.
DPV - in the future but no hurry - will not dive DPV until I get the cert.
SM cert - no but I will later this year.
Other - interested to the survey course

How can one place a value on cave diving? So I have 230 dives in all. 70 in cavern/cave/overhead environment. I am just learning to dive in a drysuit (26 total) and sidemount (8 total). The adventure continues. I will never stop learning...never stop progressing. Who can place a value on that?

PADI Scuba Diver 1972
PADI OW 2007
PADI AOW 2008
NSS-CDS Basic Cave 3/14/2010
Plan in place for Apprentice/Full Spring 2011

Just for the sake of curiosity how many certified cave divers are here?

What year certified as a cave diver, how long certified as an O/W diver before you completed cave training, by what agency, how many cave dives logged, how many different caves have you been in, and what configuration you primarily dive caves in?

Are you stage cave certified, DPV cave certified, sidemount certified?

"What year certified as a cave diver"
04 I think

"how long certified as an O/W diver before you completed cave training"
dunno, few years, bad memory would have to go find my OW card and look at the date

"by what agency"
CDS

"how many cave dives logged"
logged or have done? logged, I dunno gotta find my log book, how many I've done, not sure don't keep a good log book, over 100

"how many different caves have you been in"
see log book statement, not sure, mostly FL caves

"what configuration you primarily dive caves in"
Was back mount for a long time then went all sidemount with a smattering of no mount, most dives usually involve stages, couple cave DPV dives, couple of swimming DPV out of the cave dives (not a drill)

Easy add up your total scuba expenses up to this point including travel expenses...

I don't recommend it actually :)
