Love the comments about sinking the boat and diving it! That might be the best use of those boats yet, especially in light of the conditions they seem to be in.

I was one of those cancelled twice (August 22, 2009, and May 15, 2010). At this point, I don't think I'm interested in their "free" trips because it will probably be more wasted air fare. I doubt John Dixon will ever put significant money in the boats to make them appealing, and I really expect bankruptcy is in their near future. Also, living on them after hearing about mildew, paper thin mattresses, underpaid staff, cheap food, etc., would be like living in hell.

There is no recourse for the 6 of us with credit card companies. Our first deposit was paid in Oct., 2008, and of course, like most people, Nekton demanded that we pay the balance by check. And at the time we booked, bad feedback was deminimis. Nekton is on a spiraling decline.

I've filed a complaint with the Division of Consumer Services. Their phone # is 1-800-HELPFLA. The website to file a complain with the Attorney General's office is Florida Attorney General - AG Office and Phone Numbers. I would suggest that everyone be as proactive as possible. Chances are very strong that you won't get any money back, but at least you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you might make John Dixon squirm.

Please eloborate on your response to Mike S. underwater life.

Holy crap!!!!! They aren't paying the Feds the payroll tax they are withholding. I'm a CPA and that is something you never ever do! The Feds will send not so nice people to get them. They will seize assets. And they will pierce the LLC shell to go after the owners.

Too bad there won't be anything left for the rest of us.

Since your a CPA, is there anything we can do on our taxes if we don't get a trip or our money back? I'll consult an actual CPA local for actually filing the taxes, I just wondering if we have any course of action there?
