Are my spearguns ok

I have two guns and want to know if they are good enough guns or should i look into upgrading. I dont know much about spearguns. I have a Mares Cyrano 1100(44 inches) and a Cressi Sub SL (28 inch). Both ofcourse are pneumatic. Please get back to me with opinions

The question is how far away will your wife be when you shoot? If the guns will shoot that far they should be good. I think it depends on the type of conditions you're hunting. For here in Belize, where we normally have at least 50 feet visibility, 44 is short...28 is really short. I use a 55 inch...the short gun...and a 63. In 120 foot vis on the edge of the drop, the 63 feels small.
In low vis, hunting on the bottom in holes or getting short shots, they would be ok. I've never used pneumatic so I can't say anything about them..

Except for a gun I bought in San Pedro years ago, which ripped the skin off the top of my finger (I can't remember the brand) the only guns I have shot are Riffes, Comp 3XS and a Standard 5, and a Wong super magnum. I like them all.

Just a beginner myself, but I use a Biller 48. Have looked at the Ocean Rhino with the kill package, and it is a rather impressive set up.

Hi, i shoot quit a bit with different guns all the time! Me personnel, i don't like air guns.
I tried them 3 different guns omer, and mares in different size.
muscle loaded is the way to go.
They are quiet and powerful, witch is important. If you are to far, the fish hears the gun, and air guns are quiet a bit loud!

I shoot mostly with a 90 omer, perfect on the reef! just got a 30 pound amber jack!
i had a 110 omer same thing, i shoot with riffe, i love them but they are very expensive
but fast, quiet, and very accurate!
I dont like the treat on the tip, i favorite the spear in one piece!

If you go in blue water hunting for big fish, thats when you get a 55 inch gun, and you spend more than 500 dollar in a gun, with break away tip, float for 200 dollar and line and and and......
this is a barrel without bottom, and i love it!

I have the longest Ocean Rhino with the "kill" package or "commercial" package what ever they call it, and it is a good mid to long range gun. Plenty of power from two bands. I have only used a pneumatic once and was not impressed, more range from rubber. My Biller is my best and most used gun. I also have a few mid ranged JBL's that are great for fresh and shallow water. The next gun i buy will be a Wong ask any owner of a Wong gun and you will not hear a bad review. It all depends on where and what your hunting for. I agree with binobanana blue water equipment can get pricy, fast. There is a ton of gun reviews on spearboard as well as know-it-all's ready to tell all. Good luck! Happy Hunting

I'm having a 55 GR hybrid (like the one in the pic) made right now. I'll pick it up and get to try it out in Hawaii with the good doctor (Daryl's a dentist) in Aug when I go for my daughter's wedding.
