Funnily enough last Sunday I was with a Taiwanese Dive Guide in Kenting Taiwan, and he advised me that he had found a camera in weighted case on the sea floor of a dive site known as "Independent Rock" - around 5 years ago !!

Told me the camera is in his dive shop on the shelf where he had placed it expecting to hear of someone who had lost a camera but, he never did ! Says he went through the photos looking for a person but alas there are only fish on it !

Now then, is it worth me getting the camera card and camera / case type and putting it on here -does any user recall losing a camera on the particular Kenting dive site almost 5 years ago, as I'd suspect if it was a local diver they'd have put word out amongst the dive shops ~ so I'd think very likely it would have been a visitor ?

Well, maybe... if we could just see those fish pictures, we could prolly :rofl3: figger it out

Looking forward to the NBC segment..... I see potential for a movie here. Wonder who you'd talk to about that. Granted it would need to be a bit more sensationalized and a little fiction mixed in to create the story, but I think it would be fun to look into it!

My wife had a great idea about that. This would make a great spin-off from "Finding Nemo." The star would by Crush.

It makes sense....In Nemo, they found Nemo by way of a dive mask. They met Crush who swims in the currents. In this case, Crush could be swimming the Loop Current and wants to find the owner of this lost camera. Maybe it can be sensationalized to include finding his son, Squirt, who is in one of the pictures.

Coincidently, the voice of Crush happens to be a Disney Pixar writer. His name is Andrew Stanton. Anyone know how to get a hold of him, or any other Disney writers?

You should mention this idea in the NBC interview!

The tentative time for the NBC airing is Saturday at 6:30 pm Eastern. It is subject to change depending on news, but Sat is the current plan.

Very cool. Keep us updated. In the meantime, maybe we should all email Pixar? :)

It would also be great if someone were to "youtube" the news segments so that those who miss it could watch it.

Maybe you could start a "movie" thread.

Some more back-story for the film: Since the loop current goes through the Gulf of Mexico, now would be a great time to incorporate the conservation aspect of this story, at the time when the BP oil incident is causing so much suffering for turtles and other animals in the Gulf.

I know it takes 3+years to complete a Pixar film, but what a great story. Nemo was about conservation, Wall-E was about conservation, we know Disney/Pixar has a heart. Keep putting their name in posts, someone will Google it who knows someone who knows someone.......

Aquahound can make it happen!
