I take it you dive in a wet-suit... Or at least I hope you do!

Yeah I always dive wet, let me rephrase, yes I dive in a wet suit as opposed to a dry suit that um- becomes wet:cool2:

I like being able to go as fast as I want from point A to point B without the oldsters complaining at me later  When I'm swimming out to something specific, sometimes I just want to get there. We dove a wreck this morning with a 22-minute swim out there through open water (at 20 ft in a 100+ ft harbor full of jetskis) and I caught no end of grief for leading too fast. So, I dove another site solo this afternoon and got to just blast out there as fast as I wanted (~10 minutes out in 35 ft, a good 5 min. faster than with buddies).

Actually I'm just the opposite. I wanna go super slow and it seems like everyone else wants to fly.

I can either dive or be a buddy (babysitter), I cannot do both... and I love to dive.

This has to be the toughest skill to master.

Changing between the wetsuit and the dry in the same day, and remembering whether you're allowed to 'warm' yourself... ;D

I don't always dive solo, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.
Just kidding here

I hate babysitting.

It gives me bragging rights when I see something nobody else did.

Because I'm not worried about anyone else's excitement level, I can explore a single rock for 20 minutes counting the numbers of species on it, then recount it just to be sure.

Solo, you can spend 30 minutes in 5 ft viz looking at crayfish and rocks and just groove.

And what's (who's?) more groovy than crayfish!

I like when you're on a dive trip and you give the other secret-solo guy on the boat "the sign" that says "see you under the boat in an hour...". Nary a word is spoken and the anal DM never knows that you broke HIS rules. :)
