Wondering if anyone is planning on doing Murray anytime soon? Want to get back in the water and would like to find a buddy/group to hook up with. Will have a EANx cert next week, wanted to put that to some use. Pretty new diver in general but getting much better. Let me know.

There's actually a Christian Divers fundraiser at Murray this weekend. I was invited by one of the local dive shops up here in OKC, but I don't think I'll be able to make it. Anyone wants to know more on that, though, let me know and I can PM or e-mail you the info.

Just a quick note of clarification...It's the Christian Divers of Oklahoma (CDOO) that is having the event (not the Christian Divers of Texas, CDOT). Not that it makes a bit of difference, of course. CDOO is a great group of folks, and anyone attending will have a fantastic time as well as the opportunity to win some terific prizes. CDOT is proud to be a brother/sister organization to our good neighbors to the north. I can't make it this time, but ya'll take the opportunity to attend and have fun! Tell 'em Bill said "howdy"!

Hey Bill, yes... sorry... it's the Christian Divers of Oklahoma. I should have clarified but I guess I didn't realize there was a similar group in TX, too. Money goes to a good cause. Sounds like a blast. I got to look at some of the gear they'll be auctioning yesterday... cool dive computer, a liveaboard trip to the Bahamas, very neat stuff like that. They're also having food and games and some other events, I believe. Anyone that goes will have a great time. I've just been gone the last 3 weekends in a row and kind of want to sit here and be lazy for once.

Aero,
Keep posting here. There is usually a group of us who regularly trek to Murray. Bill has been there plenty of times. Unfortunately, I don't think we have been real active this year with Murray. Don't know why. Just timing I suppose. Anywho, keep trying. I am sure we'll pick up the Murray thing again. Maybe in the fall / early winter.

Thanks, Rich. I'll keep an eye out. I have noticed a few Murray posts on this board, which is why I sort-of "adopted" the TSD forums, haha. The Central/Midwest boards seem geared a lot farther north/northeast than Oklahoma.

Murray is water... it's a lake. Not sure what else I can really say about it. I haven't been overly impressed with it the couple trips I've made there, but it's appealing to me because it's (somewhat) local.

I keep wanting to get back up to Murray...'Seems like I used to go up there 2 times a month. 'Haven't been there since March.
I'll be up @ Lake Broken Bow tomorrow.

Lets hit Murray and then head over to Broken Bow one cooler weekend.....I have a lake I might give a jump in north of BB to see it's diving conditions,,looks ok.

I would be happy to join you tomm. at BB, but not enough time with Joseph at home.

It has a few interesting points, and in the winter it's nice a 'cool' if your into that kind of diving.

Tex... Murray does have some pretty interesting dives. Agreed on that part. I just have sort-of a love/hate thing going on with Murray right now because of the horrible viz that has cursed my few trips out there. Definitely going to give it a few more chances, though.

EDIT: And haven't had a chance to try it in cool weather yet, might be interesting.
