Hey Mike! Long time no see. Hope everything is going well for you.

Hi Craig! Everything's fine, just haven't been able to get to the water much.

Ruh row...:hijack:

And now...:focus:

One funny thing I saw at CSSP this weekend was a dive doing a surface swim out to a platform with a Gilligan hat on. I'm sure these hats are called something else, but that's my best description. The hat looked dry and I took him for an instructor so I'm not sure if this was intentional and he was going to put it in his BC pocket, or if he simply forgot and none of the students bothered to point it out. Just struck me as funny.

Oh yeah... I think I ended up finding everything there is to find out in the lake. The ropes from the platforms lead you to two boats, and we did a dive to the plane as part of our final checkout dive. I did my first post cert dive with ftwdiver14, and we went and found the shark, eventually. The only thing I believe I have yet to find is the coffin. That seems to be pretty elusive. Anyone else found the coffin?

Yeah, it used to be a challenge finding all that stuff. It gave you a chance to work on navigation skills. Now it's more like taking a walk in the park down the street from my house, or it would be if most of the people in the park were walking around like they were drunk and kicking up a cloud of dust.

Try your skill at perfecting a dead reckoning compass run to the marker buoy for the silos. Let me know when you can bump the buoy rope with your forehead. I usually start from the buoy attachment point on the smaller cabin cruiser. Set compass to 65 degrees and kick out into open water. You will know you have found the silos when your forehead contacts the buoy rope there.

svnipp--There's also an alligator to find.

I found the mine that way once. And I had witnesses. :D

Oh! I forgot about the alligator and the mine!

The last time I found an alligator he put up a hell of a fight. Hissing, scratching, attempting to bite, and tried to hit me with his tail. When all that failed he went into a death spin and dove for deeper water. At 80 feet I let go figuring I only had 20 feet left before going beyond my certification limits. Ooops there I go daydreaming again......

Don't forget " Scuba Jesus "

He's down there too but not many folks know where he is and I ain't gonna lead you there. Logic will tell you where to find him and yes suffering may be a part of the search unless you enjoy the cold.
But then ... it's only 59 F there now so that's not really too bad

Ooh, I want to look for him ! When air temps cool off a bit I can don my 7mm gear. Any hints, Timeliner?

EDIT: Ah, I just noticed the hint. I'll check there first :)
