I can either dive or be a buddy (babysitter), I cannot do both... and I love to dive.

This has to be the toughest skill to master.

Changing between the wetsuit and the dry in the same day, and remembering whether you're allowed to 'warm' yourself... ;D

If you're doing it right, it shouldn't matter...just that one is more effective than the other since it's going right out into the water

I spend most all of my dives teaching others. And after class after class after class, my new divers book my boat and want to buddy with me..... So, when I can, I send all divers off with their buddies, and I get to dive. No taking care of anyone. Just me. I love it. Hell, I drop in on SI's and lay under the boat on the bottom and just relax..........

well It's all about ME! nobody but ME!

i can play with my toys, or not. i can spend the whole dive watching a nudibranch, or not, i can swim around practising my skills, or not. the choice is mine and i'm not responsible for anyone else.

BUT my foreign travel insurance says i must dive with an instructor?????????????

As so many others have said...

Because I am self-fish, don't like diving with anyone else, find most "PADI-party-liners" annoying, can spend more time doing my own thing, etc, etc, etc...I could go on forever.

Where is "here"? Sounds like Muskoka up here in Ontario...

The lake's that no one seems to dive here in New Mexico, well other then the Blue Hole where you can have the fun of diving with up to a 100 or more people on any given week end in a tube 60 feet across and 81 feet deep.
I would rather dive dark, cold water and have the place to myself. But that's me and by means do I think everyone would like this as a matter of facked It's nasty and I think you should all go to the blue hole and just say away from the rest of the lakes in New Mexico, there just not worth you time.
