My prayers go out to Tims family and friends.

Im pretty sure it is. If you look at the video and their pictures its the same boat and their website says they are closed

That's real sad. I have dove with them a few times. They were very professional and very helpful. I was very comfortable diving with them. If they re open, and I hope they do, I will be diving with them again.

Part of me hopes he had a health issue so the family (and us divers and the crew of the scubateer) can have closure. If he was like me, it all ended doing something he loved. We all have to go sometime. I hope when it's my turn its when im doing something I like.

Jax,

We're talking about an area that's 1/4 mile squared and contains water to depths of over 200ft for most of the area. That's a tremendous volume of water to search and there is very little visibilty at that depth and the trees are monsterous down there. Zoom into the picture that I posted previously. If you look closely at the base of the old dam there are telephone sized poles that were used to run electricity down there and in that picture they look like twigs. Image a human standing next to one of those poles.

This is simply too large, too deep and too dangerous to send a diver into, let alone a group of them for a search. Plus, I don't think you'd be able to find that amount of tech divers willing to risk it based on those conditions.

I do hope they find him to offer some closure to the family, but their search is not a simple one.

N2DeepInAz obviously you have never been there.

Boy, I hope that was sarcasm....

Thanks for your insightful addition to the conversation. :shakehead:

No, not sarcasm.

I didn't want to step on any toes, i am not a "cyber diver" but we have spent well over a hundred dives (for some of us it is closer to 200 dives) on the bottom behind the dam, want to know which buttress the crane platform is behind, or how may hand rails there are that lead into the control room? 10 days ago the viz was great down there +/- 20 ft, there are no "monstrous" trees, it's not "too deep too dangerous to send a diver" into. Conserning " Plus, I don't think you'd be able to find that amount of tech divers willing to risk it based on those conditions." I have 5 rebreather divers that routienly dive 3-4 hour run times that live in the valley and would be happy to help the family.

I did't post here to get into a pissing contest about who has the most cards or the deepest dive, I love to talk diving and would love to do so over a beer.

Honestly it wouldn't matter, the sheriff has NO interest in any help, you could have built the dam and they wouldn't even talk to you about helping.

And like you and Bill, I would like to see the family get some closure to this.

Please keep us posted. I'm sure all of the thoughts and prayers going out are for you and the crew too.

They might not want help but can they stop you from diving there? Serious question.
