Yeah tell me about it. There are only a couple of shops that have boosters around here.

As far as a rebreather and deco, if you're diving 250fsw open circuit on - say 10/50 and deco on 32 and 80 (for arguments sake) your PPO2 drops into the .5 - .8 range throughout parts of the ascent. With a rebreather it is like having the perfect deco mix for every depth since you can set your PPO2 at a specific value (say 1.4). The higher the PPO2, the quicker you deco. This can cut your deco almost in half in some cases.

On the 30 min BT dives that Dan and the guys were doing, this would be a big savings. We end up doing 20min BTs at 250 due to gas volume limitations and pure boredome factor at the last stop (28min at 10ft for the gasses mentioned before!).

Thanks. I understand the concept and always thought that, but I've heard differently from others. I can also understand what they're saying since a small percentage of decompression is done between 70 and 20 feet (I use 50% rather than 32%).

Thanks. That's what I thought. The only real advantage is savings on helium. What RMV did you use? That seems like a lot of gas for that dive. I have decided to go with a SCR so deco will be OC, but I'll be able to spend a lot more time where I want to. And I can use it with my SM rig. Two SCRs on order.

Bill, I've had longer deco than that. My MP3 player keeps me entertained.

as an instructor my job is not to put students in a place i cant get them out of. if he was an aow student then an instructor/shop/buddy failed him. that is not a quess thats a face unless he did somthing overt
 
Our family has scheduled a memorial service for Tim on August 20th in Milesburg

Thanks to everyone that has helped us through these tough times. A special thank you to all of the divers who have spent their time trying to find Tim.

The Sheriff's office brought specially trained dogs out earlier this summer to help identify where Tim's body is. They identified an area near the old dam that has helped the M.C.S.O. in their search. Hopefully soon we will find him.

As of now their is no memorial scheduled in the Phoenix area. If things change I will post on the boards. There has been some talk of a party in Tim's honor but it has not come to fruition yet.
