Excellent!

Good to hear, while I'm pessimistic, hopefully that signals an end to whale hunting in the antarctic whale sanctuary.

Thanks for posting this celebratory news CD! I just hope my prediction of commercial whaling ending is coming true for this decade. :)

Kudos to Sea Shepherds for getting the Japanese to stop this charade, for Greenpeace for stopping the Russians in the 70's and for all environmentalists assisting along the way who assisted in getting this belligerent industry to stop. After more than 30 years of seeing this stupidity I can almost crack open the champagne bottle and breathe a long sigh of relief!

A small plus for the tanking economy of Japan which can no longer sustain ridiculous expenses like whaling and storage of uneaten whale meat. Maybe they can use the millions they save to help a lot of the Japanese people out of work - along with the associated "new" social ills facing the people.

I will be celebrating with Martinelli's Sparkling Cider instead of Cristal. :D

I do know the tenacity of the fisheries corp. in Japan. If the continued recession/depression in Japan continues the pressure will be on to use money for social needs vs. yen-draining enterprises. If the fleet ages out, like the Russian fleet from decades ago the Japanese whalers will not return to the Antarctic. That said - they may just hunt more aggressively in local waters until they make good on their initial investment. :shakehead:

Thank you Sea Shepherd crew and supporters everywhere!

Thanks for sharing this CD! This is terrific news and pretty much the nail in the coffin for subsequent returns to the Antarctic. Major Victory!!!:luxhello::luxhello::luxhello:
