Jun what wide angle / macro lenses did you use and did you have any issues?

for macro, used inon ucl165 with 67mm thread which fits housing perfectly, no wide angle wet lens... and viz was pretty bad, maybe next purchase plus a decent video light and strobe. getting familiar with cam was easy, focussed on getting great photos, the vid only tried 2nd day and was with a newbie buddy so couldn't really play with it much.

suggest when flicking to video, set exposure to zero, this can help sharpness of vid, best point and shoot I had (from an intova 'crap'- sony dsc p200 in ikelite- canon g9 in wpdc21- lumix zs3 in panasonic housing and this :D)

Jun Lao, Thanks for posting. Sad to see what happened to Nha Trang, as I dove there when it was one of the truly spectacular places in the world.

The quality of the video appears to be excellent as are you macro images...keep us updated in your findings.

Hi Puffer chief :), i think the dive operators in vn are focussed on 'try dives' and tech training, why they only chart to hon mun island (much coral bleaching, stonesthrow away is a fish/lobster farm, and the local joke, no fish?-eat already) ...when I go, always lots of try dive, which progress to open water - advance, no familiar faces, no local dive clubs.,(nha trang is one of the stops made by Chinese and European travelers after cambodia and laos), plus the fact the gov't has lots or red tape on providing licenses for 'dive sites.

There are tales that a 2 hour boat ride to a strong current site will yield huge stingrays and whalesharks, but no one has gone in the past yrs (maybe this was the site you were referring to) , to few seasoned permanent divers to fund trips there (this I hope I can do or maybe organize something, lots of xpat divers are loosely connected here)

also wanted to do a night dive at the nha trang pier (where inquiring the boat men when they clean the undersides, they feast on morays and crabs) from my experience, piers, trash and sites with volcanic activity yield weird critters, beyond the usual sandy portion between corals and out to sea, again dive opp shared marine police dont allow it and may revoke their licenses. oh well, hoping to find a buddy, rent a tank and sneak in at night, where I slept once on a dive boat (my hotel mismanaged my booking during hectic chinese new year) ...and it was really quiet, the police are away

I dove there in the 70's. Nha Trang bay was a spectacular giant coral reef. To the north, around Vung Row (don't know the correct spelling) Pass, there are huge vulcanic plugs sticking out of the water, there were strong currents, and huge animals. I always wanted to go back there, but later heard that they killed all the coral in the bay. Sad.
