Jun,

Which wide angle are you using? Any viginetting? Been some comments in other threads that the housing may not strong enough to support a wide angle. Any thoughts?

Looking at this setup as my old G9 had a burial at sea last week...

Looks like the review in xariatay's post used an Inon... and did not have any issues. I think the other threads were guessing that it might be....

Hopefully Bluewater will be shipping my housing out tomorrow and I will have pics by the middle of next week.
Has anyone ever fabricated a bracket or a brace to support the Inon wide angle lens on a housing?

I don't know what other people said but what I said was that the UWL100-67mm Inon lens would work, I also said when combined with the excellent dome kit that it was expensive (>900 dollars) and heavy (>39oz).

I also think the new Inon UWL H100-28LD might work very well if an adapter is offered by Inon which they may. It too will be expensive at over 900 dollars with the Dome II kit and heavy, I think more so than the older UWL100-67mm with Dome I kit.

I have always been partial to the UWL100 lens. The glass elements and glass dome with anti-reflection coatings are not prone to flare and the new version, the Dome II, is said to be even better. Could be a killer combo with the Oly camera if Inon offers a converter/mount kit since this a new bayonet mount lens.

I guess that in the context of the several hyper threads that being simply positive or neutral was an insufficient response.

I just received my UWL100 a couple of weeks ago and was really surprised by the weight of the lens. I'm really hoping that it's not too heavy for the Oly housing.

I think the UWL100 lens by itself will be fine, it is when you add the dome that worries me, but, sometimes luck shines upon us and maybe it will be OK.

If Inon offers an adapter kit for the new LD mount then it will, like nearly all Inon adapter kits, structurally support the lens by tying it back to the tray and base of the housing, thus sharing the load and removing the worry factor from the equation.

Olympus has not shipped the housing yet. Possibly the 8th or 9th of March..........:(

We will have the XZ-1 housings in stock on monday. I'll post some lens test results here. Several people have already preordered, they will (hopefully) go fast.

Yeah, that is a shame and it looks like the report has been updated with photos showing exactly what he means and says. I had hoped the Inon WAL100 series lens would work but it looks like the distance between the accessory lens and camera lens is just too far. Shame, shame, maybe there is hope with a mount for the Inon 100LD lens and dome.

hey guys
deepshots review ..conclude that it was a "Good camera but half baked housing limits the use of this diving package for macro only."

they stated that the port was too long for a wide angle lens.
therefore the image will be distorted.

and share your thoughts.

The Olympus PTWC-01 apparently does not vignette on this housing, according to Yuzo.

"You can attach 67mm wet type lenses, but wide conversion lens, you see vignetting with INON UWL-100 or some other lenses, Only OLYMPUS PTWC-01 works without vignetting."
