WOW, that was such an awesome video!!! Thanks a lot for posting that Cardzard! Soooo gorgeous!! My original plan for the summer (before I knew about the invasion) was to do cavern and intro to cave courses... I am so fascinated and awe-struck by these dives. They are just simply unbelievable!

Looks DARK and CLOSED IN

Hopefully the above vid changed your mind! Or at least to dark, closed in, and MAGNIFICIENT!!!

Edit: Man, I just watched it again in full size... I can't stop drooling now!!

WOW!!!!! That is amazing!!!
This is going to be the best birthday EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not as dark and closed in as I thought!

Got an email back. Going to pay my deposit.

Pans,
I just paid my deposit!
You had better go or you will have a petite country girl kick your ass!!!!!:fishslap:

Well on second though, I changed my mind. I watched a cave diving documentary last night and it gave me the worst nightmare ever! Have fun though!!

haha, nah, I just gave them all my info to pay the full amount - so no need to beat me to a bloody pulp with a fish, lolololol!

Hey Aggie, still thinking of joining us?!?!? It's gonna be a blast!!

I'll check with the rest of my party. I'd like to do it, my daughter may be interested. My girlfriend is working on confidence issues so she probably won't. I may be able to get her to do a snorkel also. I'll check and see if the snorkel tours happen at the same time as the dive trips. You signed up w/ Tank Ha, correct? Did you find out anything about a group discount?

The 3 of us are marked on their calendar for the 19th, and I'll most likely put my deposit in when I get my next paycheck on Thursday - I'll let you know when I do this. The cost of the 2 dives is $110, which includes tanks, weights, diving lamp, transportation, entrance fees, drinks and a lunch box. They do have all other gear available for rent. The ferry to Playa del Carmen is also about $12 each way. I just asked about a group discount and the max amount of divers we can bring, so I'll let you guys know about that when I hear back from her.

If there's any other info you think I'm missing or want to know, let me know and I'll find out, or you can e-mail them directly. I'll keep you posted on all new info I recieve!

I'm so anxious right now it's killing me!! I can't wait anymore!!!!!!!!

Most likely you can add two more to the list for cenote diving on the 19th with Tank-Ha. We'll be in the area from the 10th through the 20th. We'll probably do a few dives with Dennis @ Diablo Divers before the official invasion starts and then again near the end.

Yes, we are signed up with Tank Ha on June 19. We should be gone for quite a few hours (ferry to playa at 7:00AM, drive with Tank Ha to the cenotes, time for 2 dives, then the whole return trip), so setting up a snorkeling tour during this time should be cake. There's not much of a group discount, for every 10 divers, one goes free... I doubt we will gather that many people, but who knows?? Otherwise, it's $110 per diver.

They also have snorkeling at the cenotes ($50) and you can also include the turtle sanctuary ($75), I will inquire with them and see if it's possible to snorkel the same sites we will be diving. but there won't be many fish to look at if that's her thing. They also have whale shark snorkeling available, but that is $185 and a few hours away - but if it's something of interest, they use a boat to get there instead of the 3-4 hour drive to Hol Box.

And for future info incase you decide to come, my reservation is under John Edwards.

Awesome!! I will let them know you are interested so they can hold a spot for you, let me know when you're in for sure! I kind of feel bad going with Tank Ha this time since you and Cardzard mentioned Diablo Divers earlier in this thread, but I forgot about that and didn't read it until after I shared a few e-mails with them. Now I'd feel even worse if I backed out - but now is too late anyway, we already have our deposits/payments in.

I will definately dive with them in the future though. This isn't my first and definately won't be my last trip to the area, and I like diving with different ops - I like making new friends all over the place!! It's cool when you're just walking the streets and people know your name and you know theirs! Everyone is great down there!

Thanks for giving them a head's up and No worries re: Diablo Divers.

Hey Aggie, when I recieved my response back from Tank Ha (Marce) regarding the snorkeling with us, it sounded like you have already confimed you and your daughter for diving and your girlfriend for snorkeling. That is super awesome!! Looks like we'll actually end up with a fairly large group!

So far we have myself, Leann, and Jim's (Aggiebq86) party of 3 confirmed. Derek (Ramasule) is committed, and David and Monica (TexasTorpedo and wife/gf/friend) are sitting on top of the fence (they have your names marked down with us).

Ramasule, since your wife won't be diving with us, maybe she'd also like to snorkel the cenotes with Aggie's girlfriend? It'll be at the same spot we dive and it's $50 (USD). This is one dive where I know I'll be bringing my snorkel along too! Usually that thing doesn't see the light of day!

I also got word that we'll be going to Dos Ojos - which is the same spot the video was taken that Cardzard posted, although I don't know if we'll be taking the same 'lines' as were in the vid (Barbie and Batcave). Man I'm getting pumped for this dive!!

Do you guys think we should start a new "Offical" thread for this dive with the details on the first post? It may be easier for people to see and know it's definately on, and that snorkeling is now an option also - rather than getting halfway through to the end of this thread to find out all the details??
