Hi, I need to know which is the minimum certification required, under SSI, to be allowed to make those dive excursions named "Discover Scuba" (short shallow dives with people without any certification).

There is no minimum, any person who can attend a "Try Scuba Diving" course through SSI. The mimimum age is 10 years old (depth is limited to 10 feet and only two divers may accompany the instructor). After age 12 the depth limit is increased to 40 feet, and up to 4 divers may go with the instructor. All divers must first sign off on a medical form and liability waiver, if you currently have a medical condition of any kind, you will be required to have a doctor sign off on your medical form before entering the water. It is always best to contact the facility you plan to go diving with well ahead of time, they can explain the details and send you the appropriate paperwork. Have fun!

I'm a little confused about what you're asking.

If you are talking about you doing the "Try Scuba" sessions- though it looks as if you are already a diver by your profile.... If you are talking about what needs to be done for someone who has never dove before then scwdive's explaination is spot on.

If you are refering to the certification level of those that can perform the Try Scuba Sessions then that would be A Dive Control Specialist (Dive Master+ Assistant Instructor) in the pool Or an Open Water Instructor or higher in a pool or Open Water.

This is what I'm asking.
Thanks for the answer.
I'm involved in a new real state project to be built around a quarry. The quarry is diveable, though, as the place was a private property, the quarry has been unsused for decades. Part of the project is to enhance the quarry for nautical no-motor sports, including diving. I'm pointing to open a dive resort there and I need to know which are the requisites to carry people UW as "Try Scuba" or "Discover Scuba" under SSI. The project is just starting. The quarry is supposed to be open to public not before 4 years.
I'm now AOWD, I will start Rescue + Basic First Aids (or whatever name it has) next month, and I wanted to know which should be my goal.
