There is also the long horizontal layout u/w photo that is conducive to being printed big, covered by glass, and "being" a coffee table top.

You could also do this with aluminum....my Epson 4880 prints on Aluminum, and can make many shots look pretty cool -- if you used this as a top image on a modern style metallic coffee table, that might be interesting... ?

I also got a really nice Aluminum print from ImageWizards.
It looks expensive, BUT you dont always need a frame with them. Once you add a nice 24x36 frame to a regular print, the cost is very similar

Those look great. I had never heard of that.

I had coffee mugs and calendars done up one year.....still use the mugs all the time.

I use a digital frame, currently have about 4000 images loaded and adding constantly from our trips. Best present ever.

For a few pictures, I have them printed at Kinko's on 11x14 and laminated on to 3/16 foam. The quality is much better than I can do on my office laser printer. The price is reasonable since up to 11x14 is a standard color copy, not an oversize, plus the foam, last time it was around $15.

Here's one I didn't think of :

WALL CLING from MPIX Get that Moray MONSTER size:

How Wall Clings are constructed
Your image is printed on premium Photo-Tex material which ranges from 18" – 72" sizes in height. One of our artists traces the subject(s) on the screen and creates a cut file that is used to laser cut the subject. The actual size of the finished Wall Cling depends on the size of the subject in the original print.
Tips for ordering Wall Clings
If possible, avoid extending the subject off the picture.
Crop your image prior to ordering.
In the 'Special Instructions' box provide direction on how much image to include in the final cutout.
When taking the picture, fill the frame with your subject. If possible, avoid using the zoom.
Good framing of your subject when you take the picture is very important.
Please provide a well-exposed image with the proper resolution. Typically a 6-megapixel camera will produce a quality Wall Cling. Below are minimum resolution requirements for optimal quality. A file must have this minimum resolution to be produced.
Size Minimum resolution
18x12 1800x1200
36x24 3000x2000
48x32 3000x2000
60x40 3000x2000
72x48 3000x2000

Disclaimer
Decisions regarding how much of an image to include in the Wall Cling are subject to our artist's interpretation.

I have a mix of small frames mostly in the bathrooms and then run my pictures on my PC and AppleTv as screen savers or as sets

I have never tried electronic frames

And so far I am not thinking of giant prints as I feel it could be frustrating to see the little defect of the pictures but of course this is a simple approach

another vote for digital! I have a few prints hanging, but many, many more on the digital frames. And on the big screen when people come by. Non-divers are always amazed how everything looks under water.
