Hi last Sunday I tested mi Ocon with AI and I'm not to happy about it.first of all I charged my unit week ago pair it with AI and I put it back to box.battery was 99% charged but on Sunday morning it was only 62% (WTF ?!!!).I didn't play with unit it was sitting on the shelf,so it shouldn't discharged so much. Second thing after second dive battery wAs again around 60% , I switched to my third tank and then I noticed that comp doesn't show tank pressure.I thought that maybe I have to be in the water and start diving to activate AI.thank Hod I had manual gauge because AI didn't activate at all. After finishing diving I try to check what is going on but apparently when You hit 17% on battery comp is locking it self and you cant so anything

I have noticed that my new icon seems to be eating the charge up fast as well. After charging it to 100% on Saturday and seeing your message today, I check it. Today mine says 78%, that is just sitting in the box. I hope to give it the acid test on this coming Saturday on a quarry dive. I will charge it back up to 100% again on Friday and see if I get the same results as you.

Another possibility is that the Icon is not powering off into the sleep mode properly, say if the receiver for the tank module is not being turned off. If the Dive Organizer software is so sloppy I would not be surprised if there were issues within the Icon itself.

My Icon dropped 4% in one day from 99% to 95% charge, turned off. It seems a bit excessive to me?

Rechecked mine again today... It drop another 5% to 73% battery life. Well at least the drain appears to be consistent across with your computer and mine. It appears to be a 5% drain per day. To be honest I never tracked the drain on my old Icon so I can't be sure that this was the drain rate on the old icon as well. As long as I can get in 4 or 5 dives before it need recharging, I think that is ok. My concern is what will be the drain rate during the dive since the Icon will be on for 40 min or more at a time. I hope to know more this weekend on it's maiden voyage at the quarry.

Sorry for being so critical. Compared to the Sol the display is much cleaner and brighter on the Icon, so everything is a compromise.

I wonder if the older Icon did have the same sleep drain rate. If the tank module receiver was responsible for the drain you would expect the older Icon to have lower drain rate.

My other question which is not addressed in the manual is can the Icon be just left on the charger or is that bad for the battery?

I have left mine, old and new, on over night many times. AFAIK.. No negative impact.

Mark, you are absolutely right!

Of course, I didn't read the manual like I should have, but the G1, G2, G3 are for different gasses, not different icons. (I have a D9 which picks up other D9 pressure modules if you are close enough, so I guess that was on my brain)

I re-paired it and it readily paired to G1 this time.

Thanks for taking the time to correct my obvious goof.

Recharging now. Down to 64% today. Still following the 5% per day discharge rate. Heading to the quarry with my buddy to give the Net Ready the acid test. I will let you know how it performs.

It seems to charge quickly to 99% then takes a few more hours to go to 100%, which suggests it may be going into a trickle charge mode at that point.

This battery life its big problem for me .usually when I go for two day trip with my friends we do three or four dives per day(including night dive). So if comp is only good for so many dives and I have no chance to charge it then I’m screwed. Maybe mares would sell spare batteries or something. In my opinion it’s not normal that comp is discharging itself so fast, unless it’s using small capacity batteries with poor quality.
