I can't believe how fast the new HD Ready charges. It went from 36% to 100% in two hours or less using the include power adapter. I don't think my old Icon ever charged that quick. Maybe it is because I use to charge it on the PC

I think that's the explanation. The PC USB port limits the charge to 500ma while the charger is rated at twice that. I recall the manual mentions this as well.

Can't seem to get mine to work with the charger. I know I have the clip lined up on the Icon HD, becuase it charges off my home computer USB port. And I know my charger is getting power because I have a red LED lit on it. But when I take the USB cable out of my PC (while the Icon HD is charging) and plug it into my charger, the icon HD does not indicate that is is charging any longer. This bothers me because it tells me that I'm always going to have to have access to a PC USB prot to charge my Icon HD.

Do you guys leave your transmitter hooked up to your 1st stage after diving or do you take it off after your done diving for the day?

Even though the red led is lit I suspect a problem with the charger. What you can do is try charging another device with the charger, whatever you have that can charge from a USB cable -- cell phone, iPod etc. That would tell you if the problem is with the charger or the Icon.

I've dived with mine several times now. At first I was removing it out of an abundance of caution, but it's really not necessary. Now I just leave it attached. But just a word of advice -- make sure if you pack your reg with other equipment, that it's well padded. The transmitter sticks up a bit, and I'd be concerned about damaging it if stuff is piled on it.

Anyway, mine is working great -- none of the issues some others have reported. No problems connecting to computer or applying updated firmware. No problem paring (once I removed and replaced the transmitter battery). Battery drain at the very first was a bit fast, but that has now settled down. This is an awesome piece of equipment.

I leave mine connected to the first stage. I have a case for my regulator that protects it pretty well. I agree that extra padding is a good idea if traveling. I usually wrap the second stage in bubble wrap and will do the same for the transmitter module. The console is already in its own protective sleeve.

Thanks - I hadn't disconnected mine and just wanted to see you others were doing :) I keep my regulator seperate from everything else and padded very good. I put a few dives on it this weekend and worked flawless.

I haven't had any issues with the new one, the old ones I've had issues getting to show up on the computer but it's always been a issue with the connector.
