Hi everyone,

I'm planning on taking Tech 1 with Bob Sherwood in the Fall. All my regular teammates seem to be taking it this summer, but I'll be away in Europe then. So looking to form a new team for the class. The dates are flexible on my end, and more depend on Bob's schedule and yours; I'd prefer to do it over two long weekends, but willing to do it in one stretch if that's what the team wants.

This is a great chance to take T1 with a member of the Training Council. From my Fundies class with Bob, he truly lives up to his (formidable) reputation. The setup is ideal, and worth flying in for, since this is Bob's home base and the logistics are nicely worked out. The St. Lawrence River is supposed to have some great wrecks and visibility, and the time-frame puts the river at its warmest (around 70F/21C is my understanding).

As for me, I'm generally a laid back guy, although serious about my diving. I know there's a lot more vetting of teammates that goes on for T1 than for Fundies, so I'm happy to put you in touch with satisfied teammates. (If there are any unsatisfied teammates lurking out there, feel free to trash me in this thread! ).

For more details, please PM or e-mail (abfriedman@gmail.com) me.

Thanks,
Ari

Sounds like a great class wish I was part of it.

I will say you are a very skilled diver and will be a great team member to the others. :)

Thanks :). Hope you can sneak away from work this weekend and come diving with us.

Nazar and I are thinking Sat might work. Want in or do you have your team?

Well it looks like it will be a busy weekend at dutch--that is for certain.

Anyway, Ari is damn good (if my opinion means anything), and importantly he is willing to work really hard to get where he needs to be. That and the river is a great place to do tech 1 because there is strong current, great wrecks, nice depth, moderate vis (dont want to have it too easy), and castles to look at on surface interval.

Hope you guys have a great dive this weekend. Ill be off in the far corner of the lake doing timed uncontrolled ascents with my 6ft SMB to see how far I can rocket out of the water :D

Still looking if anyone is interested.

Best,
Ari

Well, I really thought this was not going to happen. It's been months of looking for someone and I gave up many weeks ago. Due to timing and life issues, I figured I wouldn't really ever get certed to go below 100' and was pretty ok with that.

But! A great teammate popped up at the very last minute and everything changed. We start tomorrow, and it should be a rockin' good time. Still not really interested in going deep, but looking forward to looooong bottom times. :)

wonder if that was the class I was supposed to be in in florida that he moved up north...

Doubt it. My teammate had scheduling difficulties with his previous class so Bob paired us up to create a new team/class.

There's still one more space if you want to hop on a plane tonight ;-). I can pick you up from the Philly airport and provide a room for the evening.... :D
