I was intrigued by a new third party lens for M43 cameras. This is a tiny 7.5mm fisheye lens, manual everything, but with a mount for M43. Has anyone tried it? What is the chance of the Zen 8mm port being usable? Pricing is said to be trending to $300, so this is a lot less expensive than the Panasonic 8mm fisheye. Samyang has been selling a very similar lens as an 8mm lens for larger bodies, and it has gotten good reviews.

The reason this might be usable is that fisheyes are typically in focus from 0 to infinity from f8 or so, at least the ones I have seen. So even though this is manual everything, it could be set at f8 and any focal distance. Worth looking into??

Looking into this further, I discovered another possibility: Sony Fisheye adapter VCL-ECF1 on the Panasonic 14mm lens. According to one seller on ebay who bundles them, With Sony VCL-ECF1 attached on it, the focal length of the lens will be become 8.7mm (0.62X) with Fisheye Effect.

i was going to ask the same thing about the samyang fisheye.
its cheap.
would love to see someone with an epl3 try this with a zen dome.
Cos this will be the reason i would buy the epl3.

mmmm very interesting idea! the sizes seem to match 66mm length and 66mm diameter. You need to add a 46 to 49 mm conversion ring to attach it I think ... this adds another couple of mm which is useful to make it come closer to the dome... would love to hear someone that can try it! This would actually focus unlike the Samyang.

As you know the Panasonic 8mm fisheye is a great lens, but expensive (about $800). The combo of the 14mm lens and Sony fisheye adapter would cost less (say $350-400). So it's very interesting for land use, being more versatile and cheaper. But is there a port? The only candidate would seem to be the ports for the Panasonic 8mm from Zen ($800) and from Precision ($500). I don't know how well these would work for the combo lens, but it's worth experimenting.
