I don't think Mares is willing or able to fix this problem with the AI Icon anytime soon as they haven't suggested they are doing anything about it. The old non AI Icon was just fine, I now have a backup ultra cheap computer because flat batteries on the AI was losing me dives. I liked the non AI Icon, I want it back, I would be prepared to trade a downgrade back to the non AI at nil cost. This AI Icon has only about 30 dives on it and works fine, just an unusable concept, it cannot take me through a weekend of boat dives unless I take a 240v generator with me, the non AI can do that. Any takers? I would recommend the non AI HD Icon to anybody, it was great but I would caution anybody in the market not to buy the AI until its battery drain problem has been sorted, it's almost a fatal design fault, and it doesn't seem to be fixable with a firmware upgrade.

So I have two NON AI Icon's. One is older than the other, but both run the same firmware obviously. One drains, one doesn't. Work that one out!

Any USB charger should work for this and there are battery operated and solar powered USB chargers available. How about trying one of these.

Use a solar charger. Most can be charged via USB or the sun, and they are great when there aren't any sockets around.

Or you can cryo-yourself 100 years from now. I'm sure wireless electricity will be quite common then.
