A friend reported 73 as of this 9/9. Hoping it stays close to that for the weekend of the 21st. Last year about this time it was 64.

On 09/09 it was 20.6 doing the tin plate factory at Morrisburg.

... ? can it be done from shore? Do tell details on where this dive is :)

It is a short drift, morrisburg ontario - Google Maps

enter at the end of Augusta Street at the pumphouse

Neptune: diving in Ontario, Lock 23

If you turn north to exit when you see http://www.facebook.com/sharky.scubarock.7 - he was placed in the water that day - you will come out by the church or by the dock at the bottom of Ottawa street where if meets Lakeshore - this will take about half an hour. If you continue to drift, you go into lock 23 and will come out at the beach after sixty or seventy minutes. You will need a big tank and / or good consumption to do the full thing.

The Conestoga is a nice easy shore dive in Cardinal, just a hop down the road.

Ahha thanks gcarter! We have always just called it the pumphouse drift. Unless I am missing a structure? Love to explore around the old busted up parts near the dock - swim upstream in the back eddy and then drift down if we dont have two vehicles. Weeds were crazy high two weeks ago, 20ft of water but only 3 feet from the surface!

I hear you. Go slightly west from the tree on the shore and you can start with the powerhouse, go straight out and you will start with the tin plate factory. Weeds were insane coming back in. Saw some fairly large life forms in those weeds last weekend though!

Diving at Morrison's tomorrow with my bro and son, down at the Conestoga on Sunday.

19 C on the Conestoga at Cardinal today.

There are two structures - if you didn't catch gcarter's point :) If you enter from the end of the street (we are big fans of the tree entry though), you have to swim south west against the current to hit the first structure.

The long drift is fabulous - I did it last week and it took about 72 minutes. The current has been down so I would be prepared for at least the same amount of time if you do it this season.

Water temp was a toasty 66F this past weekend in Brockville.

Temps out of A-bay and Clayton were 68 this past Saturday. I was diving wet and was warm enough in the water, but with the wind and rain, I couldn't get warm on the surface. I decided to not dive on Sunday because of the cold temps and wind. Even the dry divers were getting chilled on the surface. But I had a great time chatting with the boat captain (Ken) and helping my buddies in and out of the water. I'll definitely be diving dry next year...
