Agree. Vis was OK. Nothing spectacular, maybe 20ft in some places, a little more in others, less as the tide turned. I've dived there in much less and still had a good dive....exception being that one dive last year the vis was so bad that we got excited to find a cushion star...aborted the dive after 20 min.

Sandra shot this today at the BHB..she was kind of excited, as she had not seen one before :)

Cool. On what were it be crawling?

Sandra has this black plexiglass square clipped to her bc/( bp/wing harness d ring) .... When she sees a character like this one, she lies the thin square down in front of it, and the nudibranch will typically begin walking over on top of it--this is a better contrasting background than much of what BHB has, so Sandra likes the outcome of shots with this frequently.

Here is another shot this way ..

oohh cool idea..

To be fair, it was an idea Ximena ( Mena) had, but you can make them your self for about 50 cents :)

On the other hand, my preference would be the shots of nudibranchs on an open reef area like Boynton or Pauls, where the background can be colorful and outrageous in it's own right...the full camoulflaged background of the BHB can get boring...to me...but I am a wide angle guy anyway:)

Hi Dan,

Those are some cool shots! Say hi to Sandra. I am upgrading my system this week and plan to get a snoot for my flash so I can get those "black background" images, but the plexiglas sounds like a much easier and cheaper method!

ohhh that does sound sweet.. haven't heard that fish mentioned here yet. :) (but somebody will probably pull out a photo from 2 years ago of a pygmy seabass....) LOL

Start time: 7:03 PM
High tide: 8:03 PM

If you would like to join us, please call our Riviera Beach Force-e store 561.845.2333 to sign up. We will need each divers name and contact in case of bad weather or conditions.

We recommend you have a primary light, back up light and tank light. Please arrive at least 45 minutes before the start time and stop by the store to sign your waivers and pick up your parking pass. You must have your certification card with you. Due to a rush of divers coming in, we cannot look up certifications online.

Each dive group must have a state legal dive flag with a light mounted on top so boaters can see you.

All divers must be out of the park by 10PM or you will get a ticket!

Hope to see you there!
