I bought a Mares Matrix computer 6 months ago, I was very happy by the compass and the clarity of the screen. Unfortunately I had serious problems with the push buttons. After 3 months, the upper left button separated from the computer. I send it for repair, had to wait one month and Mares sent a new one. After charging it completely, I wanted to set it up. To my great dissatisfaction the upper right button that is used for the set up (long push) is inoperative. I can press hard for 10 seconds, nothing happen! I may be unfortunate, but I think Mares lack the quality control of company like Suunto, which manufacture very reliable, although expensive computer.
My recommendation: don't buy a Mares Matrix now, wait a year or so in order to have Mares fixed the problem and proposes an upgraded version, or buy a Suunto D6.I
I also have a Matrix, which for some reason suddenly decided to say I'm always doing a 1700ft dive and constantly beeping alarms. Even after flashing the unit with the current firmware, it would only reset it for a couple minutes before it starting doing it again. It's been replaced, so I'll wait and see what happens.

Zak, My Puck Pro (from the Dive Organizer) Serial No. is 1344, Warranty No. 1199, Firmware Ver. 02.17.00 (see also photo from the Info page). There seems to be a bug on the summary page under the Log menu, the total number of hours spent underwater don't show the first decimal place (digit). When I had total dive time less than 10 hours, that field was totally empty with only capital letter H shown. When the total dive time reached 10 hours, the second decimal place (tenths) started to show while the first decimal place still being empty (second photo). Any comments? Regards, Peep

Hi there, Thanks for asking your question. At this point I am going to refer you to our new and upgraded diving computer help website Mares - Software Support - Powered by Kayako Fusion Help Desk Software Please take a minute and paste your question there under a new ticket. They should respond in a short period of time, with more knowledge than I have re: bugs and or fixes. I appreciate your question and look forward to you receiving a prompt resolution.

Thanks,

Hi,

I have a Mares Nemo Wide with the 3 gas switching upgrade.

The Nemo Wide seems to work ok, but I am having difficulty getting the Dive Organizer software to support the gas switching capability.

I had this working until the last time I loaded an update of the Dive Organizer software. Now the Dive Organizer softward does not show the gas switching operations.

I have been working with Mares support folks in Fl and Italy, but have not received any resolution. Now I am no longer getting timely responses to my emails.

Any ideas?

Hi Again,

Issue solved! Mares released the new version of Dive Organizer 2.11.11.4, build
2.11.82.4477
and it now supports the gas switching log entries.

Thanks to Gianluca and the rest of the Mares team on both shores that helped me.

Cheers,

JJ

I'm on my second Matrix now and I charged it fully Saturday night. I did two dives yesterday. This morning I find the battery is showing no bars and it's obviously saying "no dive". I've had this one for a few months, after replacing one that freaked out on me. I'd like a reply on this one however.

Yet another issue with my matrix. It has developed several tiny water droplets under the glass. I would think condensation is unlikely, so is this a sign of a leak?

And the third issue I've had with the Matrix goes unanswered. For such a pricey piece of hardware that's getting all the rave reviews, it's not holding up very well and I'm on my second unit. And Zak's unresponsiveness has been extremely disappointing.

Hi, Sorry for not seeing this. I've been pretty busy with end of year business, holidays, and personal life. Sometimes SB has to get prioritized. Jak, I'm sorry you are not having good luck with your Matrix. You are definitely one of the few So far it's really proven to be worthy of the praise it's receiving. All I can say from here, is it definitely sounds like you have a faulty watch, however it will need to be sent back to us for an in-hand inspection. Please take it back to your local store, we have a dealer in Pleasanton called Dive and Trips located at 1032 Serpentine Lane Suite 108 Pleasanton, CA 94566. He can help with the return. If you need anything else you can send me a pm. Thanks very much for your patience. Zak

I had a Mares Nemo first generation computer that I bought in 2008 and when I bought it,it had only half of it's battery life.I bought it at the Mares dealership in Roatan,Honduras. This meant the battery had to be replaced fairly soon after I bought the computer. They did it at the store but they did not do it correctly and it started fogging up, which meant the computer had to be sent back to Italy but it was still impossible to fix.So Mares gave me a new version of the Nemo. This whole process took over 6 weeks and was very inconvenient. I haven't been using it as much since I left Roatan,it has been in the OFF position, but again the battery is o running really low and my next dives are in two weeks in Playa del Carmen,Mexico. Can you tell me if there are any authorized service centers in that area that could RELIABLY change the battery or where would I have to bring the computer to in order to get the battery changed, please? Right now I am in Miami but the dive shop here says they have to send the computer to Mares and that it will take a minimum of 4 weeks to get it back. I am trying to find a faster solution without having it flood again.

Thank you.
