I bought these and weighted them with screws so they would sit on the bottom.

Good Idea! I didnt even think about testing for color. Might be doing some more testing tonight:dork2:.

So Phil how was the focus speed with the Sigma 19mm?

I used my strobe for both fish portraits, but on a low power setting. The surface shot was taken in ambient.

I took the Sigma 19mm for a test drive this weekend at Blue Heron Bridge. Normally you would want to take a macro lens for this site but there are also eels, batfish, rays and other non macro size critters. I used the Nauticam 45mm flat port and Olympus 165mm diopter. The lens sits a ways back in the port since it is shorter than the Panny 45mm. I was suprised to see the lens did not vignete with the addition of diopter. I'm not sure if the distance from the diopter affects image quality though. Some of the photos seemed kind of soft. I guess with the diopter I would have to get really close. Conditions were really bad this weekend too, poor vis, overcast and rainy. Posted a few pics straight from the camera unedited.

They're looking good. I think this lens has its place for fish portraits.

I agree, its a nice economical option. With a good diopter you could also do some macro
