Or did I? I met a few people from Michigan. Hard to miss my bald noggin..

We found a lot of Jawfish with eggs, which is always cool. A pipefish, a really large light colored Mantis. I somehow forgot my mask with the 2.0 diopters, so I had a hard time seeing really small things. Then we dove LBTS Sunday evening, and came across a

Anyone know how the 19mm and 30mm would go with an EPL2 and standard Oly EP03housing? From what I have read they are both faster (light not focus) and sharper than the kit 14-42 lens ... although there may be issues with build quality. At US $199 for both it is worth getting them shipped down under to NZ if they will work in the standard flat port housing.

The 19mm is very short, it already sits back in the small 45mm port. I would be skeptical that it would work in the standard flat port. That is an incredible value though. I paid that much for the 19mm alone and thought I was getting a good deal.

Hmmm. There were so many people there Sat. I dont think I was one of the Michiganders you met. The bridge does not dissapoint. Great shots! Really like the mantis shrimp. Not so sure about the last pic:rofl3:

I think rhincodon, (I wish people would attach a name) is correct, I think the 19 would vignette in the stock Olympus housing. I also think the 30mm will sit very far back in the same port but will work without vignetting, however it will reduce the distance between subject and port glass. I think the Zen port for the 45 macro will be the best choice for the 30mm although I have not yet seen the lens. I may have the 30mm soon and I will report on how well it fits in my Nauticam Panasonic 45 macro port.

Thnaks. i wondered if they might sit too far back in the standard housing. At that price though they will be useful above water. I found them on B & H. They are currently out of stock but taking back orders.

Sorry Phil...its Jon Churchill. I've read just about every article you have written on micro four thirds housing, lens, etc. I found it extremely helpful and appreciate your contributions!

One thing I forgot to mention about the Sigma 19mm is the camera start up time is very slow with this lens. I read some review state it is three to four seconds. I just occasionally half depressed shutter as I was swimming around. May not be an issue for those that use the EVF. Also it does focus fairly fast.
