I'll be in the Miami area around March 13-19 and would like to dive in spots that have sharks. Any recommendations of dive shops that will take you out to one? I'm putting together a shark conservation video and would like some shots of them in the wild. Thanks!

Randy Jordan will definitely put you on some sharks. You need to be an advanced diver, nitrox certified, and comfortable diving to 130 ft. with schools of bull sharks, sandbars, and a few great hammers.

Amazz nailed it.
Your best bet is to head to Jupiter and go out with Emerald.
However there is another pretty sure fire method.....
You can go out on Aquatherapy/http://www.diverchoice.com/ with the Chugwhump Dive Team and try chumming the water with dead Lions while submerged.
Sometimes the sharks are pretty thick.
Sometimes not.

Indirect shark feeder.

Yes, this is the operation for this for sharks "in" Palm Beach.....It will also be a plus if you have a mindless disregard for responsible diving practices, and don't really care that much if someone gets bitten or worse.

If shooting cobia off the backs of bullsharks sounds like good video to you, then you will be in hog heaven :)

An additional item for amusement..... I was pissed about the cobia blasting off the back of bullsharks and the GoPro videos resulting from this on Spearboard----so I posted over there about how crazy dumb this was-----and not only did the majority of spearboard guys dissagree with me--my suggestions about the stupidity of Randy's shark dives ( the way they shoot fish to bring in sharks, and then shoot the cobias and frenzy the sharks), began increasing Randy's business to the point of selling out his trips... :)

You also have to be comfortable with doing drift dives on the heavily fished deep ledge with no dive flag marker. The group gets spread out and you surface with a SMB, which many boaters don't know what they are.

If you 'only' want to see reef sharks, Jupiter Dive Ctr and Scuba Works boats routinely visit Tunnels: a site that is usually filled with the reefies. The sharks are not bashful about coming in for close passes for cameras either. A couple of days ago, Amazz posting a strategy regarding close encounters with the reef sharks at the 'doughnut hole' on the Tunnels site: do a search to find her post and if you duplicate her actions, you'll probably get some great footage. Additionally, a couple of weeks ago, I was out with JDC on Capt Mike's Reef and saw a dozen reefs sharks running north and south along the ledge.

Should you decide to dive without a dive flag please don't complain if either of the following events occur:

1. An FWC boat sees you and issues you a summons.
2. You are killed or dismembered by a passing vessel.

You should always be in contact with your dive flag.

Cool! Thanks everyone. I will give those guys a call and see what they have to offer. I would like a responsible operation too.

#2 is the primary reason I have only been out with them once. Randy has a fun boat and great enthusiasm, but I simply prefer to be near a dive flag, and thought I would point that out for others who have not been out on that boat.

I have also been on fishing boats in the same area with experienced captains running on plane through a line of SMB's (spread out quite a bit) because they didn't know they were divers.
