I've already have a truck reserved, I was just wondering where to pick it up from.

My flight doesn't arrive in Bonaire until 2:00 in the afternoon so if there is an afternoon boat dive I don't see how I can make that, unless it's very late in the afternoon.
I'm still working on that truck detail... I prefer them to be delivered to the resort.
Boat dives start Sunday.... Are you not coming in on Saturday for the welcome party?

Yes, sorry, I'm coming in Saturday at 2:00. So if the boat dives start Sunday I won't be missing one. :)

I would prefer to see the trucks brought to the hotel also. That would give us a little time to get used to the layout of the country before having to drive somewhere!

Question on the boat dive schedule. At Capt Dons, they have a board for their boats and they post the afternoon the day before where they are going. If you are interested you simply write in your assigned dive number and you show up. The boats are all single tanks, 1 early am, 1 late am and 1 early pm. What is the schedule going to be like on this trip? Will the boat dives be 1 tank dives and will we have the option to pick and choose or is it more like you are assigned to a boat and you go where your boat goes. How will the sites be deterimed and will it be posted in advance. Not a big deal as I have never been to a bad site in Bon but it is nice to either know in advance or have a choice. Thanks.

Smit, you will be able to get the lay of land quickly. Use google earth before the trip.

Invasion Diving 101

Crew members are divided into dive groups based on skill level

We call these dive teams and they will do all boat dives together

Returning crew members will be in the same teams as last year with new members filling in open spots if there are any.

A team DM will stay with the team for all boat dives.

Sites will be determined by BOAT VOTES.

All boat dives will be 2 tank AM dives except Sunday which is a 1 tank afternoon dive due to the Marine Park Mandatory checkout dive.

All other diving is up to you, many will group together in trucks to dive sites all over the island.
Some will prefer to dive the house reef ( which is AWESOME )

I've a question for people who have been to both Cozumel and Bonaire. Is the tipping pretty much the same in both places? Do we have dive masters in Bonaire we need to tip on the boat dives?

Trying to figure out how much cash I need to allocate for tips is all.

Tipping for boat dives is pretty much the same everywhere, as for how much that is always a personal preference in my book.
Dive teams will have a DM in the water on all boat dives and the DM will stay with the group for all boat dives.

Hello All,

18 days left! Very excited to attend my very first ScubaBoard Invasion and to meet everyone. Diving for a few years now, this will be the first time I purchase DAN Insurance (I know, very bad of me). Does anyone knows how long after I sign up will I receive my paperwork. I am worried I may not get it in time before we leave.

Thanks! - 18 days!! :D
