What are the major differences between the two..... Conshelf XIV vs Aquarius...Looking for a back-up regulator for the save-a-dive kit...

Jim....

The Aquarius is an unbalanced piston design, while the Conshelf is a balanced diaphragm. The Conshelf will deliver a stable intermediate pressure over the entire dive, while the Aquarius will have a IP that decreases as the cylinder pressure falls. The Aquarius is the ultimate in mechanical simplicity, and offers very good performance. The Conshelf delivers better performance at the cost of increased complexity.

OK.... Who went and stole my Aquarius regulator......

Jim...

I've heard that the Aquarius is a very easy regulator to break one's teeth on with respect to self-service. In fact, I own one and it's on my list to learn how to service it. My understanding is that the service kits are readily available.

I own and overhaul two sets of conshelf XIV supreme's.... I just wanted to know the differences between them... There was a set of "like new" that went for super cheap ... But , I missed it....:( But, Thanks for the info....
