Hi, I wonder, is there any wisdom what to eat and drink before a dive trip and what one should rather abstain from? Many thanks!

Bacon..abstain! I still can't stand the smell 6months later. After coming out of the water up came the bacon. I found tea and some toast with peanut butter is enough and light on my seasick prone stomach. The coconut bread on the Brac is excellent for this!

What's breakfast? I just need tiny bit of coffee to wake up (and not contribute to pee) and a shot of cola., as I am an addict.

Usually pasta or rice of some kind.. I tend to eat pretty light during the SI between dive so I carbo load the day before the dive and the morning of. Drinks usually juice of some kind (light acid so no orange juice) the sugars in the juice will help to keep your energy up. Avoid milk products as they can cause gas (person dependent myself it doesn't bother me) and anything with caffiene as its diuretic and thus will cause you to burn more water and dehydrate you/make you run to the washroom more. Which here we usually wear drysuits and getting in and out of them can be a PITA.

I think it just depends upon you. I love good breakfasts, and whether I dive afterward doesn't matter to me. I will only abstain from something that might be causing me some gastric distress, but I usually avoid that anyway.

My breakfast is a can of Mountain Dew. Occasionally I will have a banana also just to shut up my dive buddy.

We are not prone to seasickness, but we still eat a light meal to avoid indigestion. We also avoid dairy and bacon.
